stevethevanman
Hi guys was just wondering on what the best HMR moderator is, as I have a job at the moment where it needs to be as quite as possible Any replies will be helpful...thanks Steve
CZ550Kevlar
It doesn`t matter what moderator you stick on a .17hmr you will always get the supersonic crack of the bullett, there is no chance of silencing that. EDIT:- Any moderator will do, i have found very little difference. Edited May 3, 2009 by CZ550Kevlar
Baldrick
I've just put an ASE Utra mod on my .17 HMR, replacing thr SAK I had on there. The ASE does a better job at sound suppression, but it is heavier and more complicated to clean. This month's edition of Shooting Sports reviews the new HMR-specific moderator from LEI, which looks tiny. The reviewer commented that it was the most effective HMR mod he had yet used, but then I'd hope so at £145.

Baldrick
I only bought Shooting Sports in a moment of boredom. It's a dreadful magazine.
rimfire4969
Changed my Sak mod for a Wildcat Whisper. I think it has made a good differance to the over all noise output.
stevethevanman
Changed my Sak mod for a Wildcat Whisper. I think it has made a good differance to the over all noise output. I think the whisper and the DM80 is a clear winner , not forgetting the ASE Steve
Beardo
the LEI one is supposed to be the mutts nuts - tiny as well (but it's £120 or so, compated to £35 for a SAK!) Edited May 5, 2009 by nickbeardo
