Imperfection
Went pigeon shooting today and one shot i took was odd. When i fired at a crossing pigeon at possibly just over 20yds-there was a muffled whack when the shot made contact.I retrieved the bird to see what went on and it was missing part of its body including a leg.It looked like i'd shot it with a slug yet all i ever use is 32gm 6's and this time Kent Velocitys. The only difference was i used my Lanber which is choked at 1/2 & 3/4,but this kill was on bottom barrel.Any ideas and anyone experienced similiar??? Baldrick
You're lucky you hit the pigeon - the falling 1oz slug might have flattened a cow three fields away.

Could it have been the wad that hit the bird. The shot combined with the wad would certainly damage the bird and the sound would be different to normal No 6 shot Cheers taz .
