shoughton
Hi, I have a good friend and shooting buddy who will be 60 next month. He has most shooting equipment that he wants but I'd like to get him something associated with the sport. He shoots game of all descriptions (rough, decoying and driven) and is also increasingly shooting clays. He uses 12 bore virtually all of the time. I was thinking of some special cartridges that he wouldn't normally splash out on. Maybe Eley game paper cases? Cost isn't too important as I'll probably just get him 100 of whatever I decide. Ideas very welcome, please. Steve
Dunkield
If you don't mind spending a bit you could get some made with his name on or something like that? The minimum quantity might kill that idea off though.
malkiserow
How about one of these >>> clicky <<< it could be weighted and or carved? I guess a matching stand might also be nice.

shoughton
Thanks all - great ideas. I think the tour of London gun shops sounds a fantastic idea - that's what I'll do. I'll make sure I don't take the credit card with me though! Cheers.
shoughton
Update: I went up to London yesterday and visited the Holland & Holland and the Purdey shops; a great afternoon! I did think about remortgaging and bringing back a gun ..... Both shops had a great box of paper case cartridges (including the 'Royal Game' as suggested by libs) - so I have a great gift put together for my (old ) friend who is 60 on Sunday. The staff are fantastic in both shops and were very friendly and helpful. I full recommend a visit to anybody who is in London for the day. shoughton
Sounds like a great present, if you don't mind me asking how much are they a box? George No problem. The H&H cartridges were £8 a box, Purdeys £7.50 a box. Not too bad for something a bit special. Steve
