David BASC
My advice to you is join a local club, first of all you will be able to see loads of different airguns and maybe try a few. Secondly, no one should attempt to shoot live quarry without practicing on targets first. As to the gun, again if you are going to shoot live quarry you need the kit that is up to the mark for this, buying cheap may not be an option – you may need to save up a bit more. Finally, make sure your quarry identification is up to scratch! David

Hey young man.. Its good thing to be asking questions on this forum as there are many people on here that are extremely helpful, and we try to be extremely safety conscience as well.. If you have more questions keep them coming. And practice till you grow tired of practicing.. Do others in your family hunt/shoot
mushroom
always good to get fresh people into airgunning. firstly you don't need a license for an air rifle within the legal limit (12ftlbs) second has already been dealt with, you'll be very hard pressed to get a rifle that is capable for £100 save up another £100 - £200 and get one off one of the forums buy sell areas. You need to get permission to shoot an area and get it in writing! practice is key!!! practice in saftey, practice in accuracy, fieldcraft, quarry recognition, judging distance the list goes on, the best thing to do is what david BASC said go and join your local club. lastly remember all air gunners represent each other, muck ups reflect on everbody safe shooting and good hunting :) Edited June 5, 2009 by mushroom

edr
My advice, take it from personal experince im thirteen/fourteen tomorrow; Save up for something worth buying, ive spent hundreds on air rifles doing small upgrades, after thinking back i could have bought exactly what i wanted in the first place if i had the patience. Also i would advise trying to get some clay pigeon trapping/scoring and beating next season, its enjoyable and u can save the money up for a decent air rifle. (Before anybody disaggrees i just brought a beretta urika 2 synthetic just after the end of the season with beating and trapping money) EDR

air gunner
Nope you cant buy it but your dad can and you can with permission use it on private land which you have rights to shoot on. my advice is to buy a springer but be prepared to buy a pcp when you get completly hooked by the sport. secondly go to a local gun shop and ask to try some. thirdly choose beween .22 and .177 (in my opinion .22) you cant go wrong. then find an area with enough room to practice say around 45yrds. and spend as much time as you can on zeroing and trying different ranges and genrally getting to grips with your rifle. Heres the good part once you have found a range that you can hit a 1 inch square at consistantly every shot. get out there and find the rabbits and pigeons. Also if your parents are not squemish the recognised respect for the quarry and sport is to eat your kills. dont worry they rabbits pigeons and squirrels are deliciouse and can putt lots of foods to shame. Some good rifle makes are air arms, bsa, and weinrauch. i have a bsa supersport its doing fine with about 2500 pellets through still at 11ft lbs. check out this websites buy and sell also the hunting life. oh yea i cant stress enough how important it is to practice on targets one for your quarrys sake the sports sake and to avoid any frustration when you stalk for ages and get within range and then miss!! practice!! good luck. Mr Sam
first off you need your Dad to buy it as your 14. Second! for a hunting gun you will have to go second hand if only spending 100. I have seen a good few guns on this site for around 100 like a few Gamo 177, some older mk3 and I got my webley gun on here for 90 to get back into shooting. if you can get/borrow 30-40 pounds more I think you can get a gamo new or go to the below site and get something like a Cometa 220 .22 or something like that. Dont rush any purchase tho, and maybe put a wanted add up. http://www.pellpax.co.uk/acatalog/SMK_Valu...Air_Rifles.html

alexr
hi Jamie First off I have to agree with Mr Sam on this. You need to get your old man on side. Not only from the point of view of getting the gun, but also for the support and help you will need getting to and from gun shops and clubs and the likes. Better going in the car with a gun rather than trying to get there on the bus. Also as a father of a younger shooter I like to know what he is up to when he's holding a gun, and I am afraid to say that involves close supervision. ( It helps to have a second pair of eyes to spot the rabbits and direct the lamp ). If you are going hunting you should also look at insurance, Just in case. Most Clubs will be only to happy to help you out. Also once your face is known about the place you may get the chance to try other types of shooting. Use the internet to find your nearest and email them for information. Oh and welcome to the sport.
