Charity Clay Shoot, Sat. 13th June

Just to let anyone in the North West know that there is a 30 bird re-entry clay shoot this coming Saturday at Crewood Hall nr. Frodsham, Cheshire.

This shoot was an annual event for many years, missed for last year following the tragic early loss of a guy called Roger Newham who was the driving force behind this event which has already raised many tens of thousands of pounds for local charities. When Roger wasn't organising this event, which took many hundreds of hours of his time, he was out with his gun, pigeon shooting, member of a small syndicate, bit of wildfowling and the odd pop at the clays - brilliant bloke.

The charity this year is Claire House which is a children's hospice on the Wirral so you can do your bit for terminally ill children and enjoy yourself at the same time. There is no prize money but the prizes are donated gifts, don't know about this year but past prizes have been things like dinner, bed & breakfast for 2 in a posh country hotel, 250 cartridges, pigeon roost shooting - well you get the drift. There is also a raffle were nearly all the prizes are shooting related and in the past there's been plenty of them.

The class structure is pretty unique, it gives nearly everyone the chance of a prize, can't quite remember how it works but it involves dividing the number of entries by the number of classes and this gives the cut-off places for the classes. Bit controversial but at least theres no sandbagging cos you can't work out the cut-off point unless you have access to the Deep Blue computer!!!

The poster is a bit small so I'll run through the details

Sat 13th, 1 - 4 PM, Crewood Hall Kingsley nr Frodsham WA6 8HR

For more information contact Nigel or Rachel Lowe on 01244 880305

Hope the weather is fine, it would be a fitting tribute to Roger to raise a record amount for this year's charity. See you there.

Magman, I think some kind Mod moved it to Clay Shooting which is were it should be but I wanted to attach the flyer for the shoot and didn't think I could do it in the Clay Shooting forum, just goes to show how inept I am at this computer malarkey!!

Anyway, I hope to see you there and don't forget Maglad as there is a junior (U16 I think) prize and he could well be in with a shout the way he shoots.

Regards

I hope he wins it as well but you and I will be slugging it out for the 'Lock Stock & Barrel' trophy Magman. I really do covert that thing, I'd give me left bo***ock to win that. Got into a three way shoot off (I'll probably regret using that phrase when Chard gets his twisted mind round it!!)about 3 or 4 years ago for high gun and that trophy but bottled it and came third, ended up winning a prize I'd donated :D.

I remember Beretta from quite a few years ago, definitely one of the best shots in the country then and probably would be now if he came out of exile. If you remember half of what he taught you I'm beaten already. Ah well I usually have some luck in the raffle.

Hope the weathers dry

I taught him everything I know.

Magman's lad. Are you smoking some Welsh herbal cigarettes?

Are you sat there whistling Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds in a khaftan and Jesus sandals?

Edit......I'm having a senior moment, either that or this cereal is laced with some of that Welsh herbal stuff.

You weren't there on that day, were you?

Ignore me, I'll go and sit in my bath chair and slather :good:
