Hare

This was a couple of weeks ago. My lad doesn't shoot game yet - but he is dead eager. The dog is great for retrieving and my lad is dead handy for carrying!

Loads and loads of hares around my shoots. Saw a good few young ones tonight - but have left them for later in the year!

sooooo with you on that one

Me too. Actually we ate this one last week. Just as you said - red wine, onion, (lots of) garlic, celery, a bayleaf and 4 hours in the slow cooker. Absolute perfection! And now a firm family favourite.

Only thing that comes close in the fillet loins off of a muntjac that we had off of a friend 3 weeks ago - best venison I've tasted.

A hanson boy with a nice shotgun :good:

I'll pass on your complement to him. Sometimes I'd like to rehome him to we'll bear you in mind :hmm:

The shotgun is my Lanber Sporter - only bought it in March when I got my SGC. Note the leather extention to the stock - I need to get it done properly! Needs an extra 1.5" added. But very pleased with it in every other way. Not that the stock is unusual - it's me that's got ape arms and a giraffe neck
