YorkshirePurdey
If you go to the AYA website and email you get a spanish guy reply over night. In his broken english he will tell you the model and the date. They are really helpfull.

YorkshirePurdey
forgot to say you will need the serial no. They are cracking guns, wish I'd not got rid of mine a while back now.
Zapp
Off topic slightly, but congrats on a good choice of gun. AYAs are fine shotguns, and you are as likely to be surprised to find your gun was made in the 70's as it was to have been made recently. Edward
I have 2 ayas and they are great guns How do you find the yeoman, Im thinking of getting one to replace my escort (as I am sick of picking emptys up)
YorkshirePurdey
I had a 1979 Yeoman, I reblued the action and it looke like new, fantastic gun and easy to replace firing pins etc as they have disc set strikers
BLUESUNSHINE
Hi all , thanks for all your replies . Im glad you think its a good choice of gun as its my first shotgun and im really enjoying using it . Just going back to the dating by serial number , ive emailed AYA yesterday but not heard anything back yet. I did manage to contact someone from a firm down south which imports spanish guns ( the firms name i forget ). I gave him the serial number and he told me it was made around 1958/59 . I did read somewhere on the internet that AYA only started making the YEOMAN in 1986 . So now im still none the wiser of the date and a little more confused !! Another question id like to ask ......... if i wanted to remove the stock to give it a facelift how would i do it ?? Also how do you remove the barrels for cleaning ?? Sorry for all the questions Dave Edited June 20, 2009 by BLUESUNSHINE
Edward
to remove the barrels there should be a lil leaver on the fore end which you pull then you can un clip and remove the forend then you just open the gun and unhook the barrels from the action. To remove the stock, I think there is a screw on the underside of the action then one under the top lever and one behind the trigger guard I think that is thats where they are on my No.3, DO NOT USE ANY OLD SCREW DRIVER TO REMOVE THE SCREWS! JT1
I have one and wanted the same info, if you go to their website, and download their brochure, in the back they have put all the dates/serial numbers/proof marks for you to be able to work it out. See attached extraction from main catalogue Catalogue_AYA_57.pdf Catalogue_AYA_58.pdf Edited June 22, 2009 by JT1
