Jon-Boy
Below is a result of a half hour walk around with the rifles, using my yukon NV attached to the back of my scope.

Jon-Boy
yeah the rats round here are like beavers, found that little begger in the middle of a horse paddock about 100 yards from where their nests are. Took a pot shot at him from about 30 yards. Would you believe it, the thing fell over! Head Shot!
Teal
Good job on ratty- make sure you use gloves when handling them and burn the carcass if possible.

stupidsalmon
I see you like your air arms. Join the club mate they're brilliant. What calibre do you have your s200 in?
Jon-Boy
both are .177 I dont care what people say about .22 being the hunting round, if you hit em in the bonce they go over with what ever size pellet you use. Gives you a bit better range too! One of those little bunnies was a 45 yarder! Although me mate shot that, as he was a british champion at FT when he was a lad. So he's pretty handy! lurcherboy
Tell us more about the Yukon-NV Jon? LB
Jon-Boy
Its a Gen 1 Nv monocular that i got off ebay (see below) Cost me £99 and works and absolute treat, i either use it to spot the bunnies then walk close, lamp then shoot. Or, clip it to the back of my rifle scope using a couple of jubilee clips and use it as a night scope. Especially good for ratting at 20 yards. red_stag88
Two things, When you put it on the back of the scope, doesn't it mess up all your eye relief as it is that much longer. Also, what does a rabbit look like at 70yrds?
Jon-Boy
Surprisingly the eye relief is ok, the window closes in slightly but not alot to affect shooting. I only use a 3-9 X 40 scope and it makes the scope blury if you go over about 5x zoom. Spotting rabbits with the nv off the scope can be done to about 300 yards with the IR iluminator on, as the eyes glow bright white. Spotting rabbits through the scope with the NV attached is more tricky, max range is about 30 yards (attached) I have logun gun lamp with a IR filter over the end to act as a powerful iluminator. It gives a slight red glow but not enough to **** off the bunnies. I might invest in a x50 scope so that it has better light gathering abilities and this will allow further ID of quarry. To be honest i only shoot bunnies with the combo when i know where they are going to come out from. Ill set up at 25 yards from a warren and wait. Distance judging through nv is next to impossible. Its best for ratting, i set up 15 yards from where i know they are and adjust a few clicks on the scope. The view is crystal clear at 15 yards (like day time)! you cant miss really! Hope this answers your question stag
