Jim Sarakun
I have a Baikal o/u 12g and understand that it has a selective ejector. I bought it second hand so no Haynes manual. How then, do I select which barrel I wish the cartridge to be ejected from? Your help would be graciously appreciated.
hurstpol
on the baikal I had you put your finger behind the trigger and pushed the trigger forward to select the top barrel Might be the same as your gun, mine was an O/U Frank

Jim Sarakun
Tried that, No joy. Maybe it isn't selective then, though I was assured it was. I need to eject the bottom barrel first, as I usually hit first time so rarely use the top. Eh, dream on!

I think you can turn them off on some Baikals. Dan

ikd
If you push the trigger forward, you should here a little click which indicates you have selected the top barrel. If you have a couple of snap caps try it out!
casts_by_fly
as noted, the trigger is the selector. the click in pushing it forward will tell you that it has switched. Once you open the gun it will switch back automatically. Not really the best designed system, so just plan to use the bottom barrel first all the time and if a situation arises where you think you might shoot the top barrel first AND have the time to set it then you can use that feature. For ejectors, it should only eject the spent cartridge. If it is doing otherwise then there could be a problem. The ejectors can be disabled and turned into extractors. With the gun open, you'll see two straight slot 'screws', one on each side of the action down around the hinge pin. Turn them 90 degrees to switch their function.
