malkiserow
I've turned a new Priest from a nice tight grained piece of Devon Oak. >>> picture 1 <<<
Whitebridges
Very nice. As you've revealed yours I thought I might show you mine. My father turned these two from Norfolk wood. The top one is apple and the bottom oak ( more open grain). I had them years and use them all the time. I can twist and pull but prefer the versatility of a priest. malkiserow
Whitebridges, it's nice to see other designs :look: .... i've been developing my designs from old tool handles such as bilhooks. I've turned in a very positive end to stop any slippage with cold bare hands or gloved hands. I've put a slight taper on the handle which is very comfortable to use, then left a nice weighty "business end" to issue the last rights! I've turned a priest from Lilac that I dried out carefully over 4 years and it made a very pale and very very hard priest. I'll post a pic up shortly. I've about 8 blanks ready in the Devon Oak if anyone wants one

malkiserow
A lilac wood priest Note this one has slimmer line since the wood is very dense and needs less bulk to do the job
