Alpha Mule
I've just shot my first Woodie (at long last). I've been searching the recipes and can't decide what to go for. There are two reasons for this: 1. They all look great! 2. I'm unsure just how far one pigeon will go. My wife and I are both keen to see what it's like. Is there a recipe that is easy for me to manage and will feed two of us (without bulking up on potatoes/veg/bla)? Does pigeon go well with rabbit? Thanks In Advance. KillerChef92
1 pigeon probably wont be enough for two people. But i'd recommend cooking the pigeon by itself so you can really taste the pigeon.

John_R
That would work but don't slice it up until it is cooked, or you could dry it out too much. I have been eating pigeon for lunch most days lately. I put two breasts in some olive oil with pepper and thyme & rosemary before I go to work, and when I get in they go into a dry pan or griddle while I knock up some salad and chunks of bread. Five minutes later I have a tasty meal that does not mask the pigeon flavour at all, then back to work! You could try that just or simply fry in garlic butter, treat it like mini-steaks and you'll not go wrong.
