steve_b_wales
Does anyone know where to buy a target/s to use with 22LR? I have a one that re-sets itself, which I bought at a gamefair, but it's manufactured abroad. Thanks Steve Edited July 19, 2009 by steve_b_wales
Heladoxa
Hi Steve, have a look on Google Can't you copy the one you've got? Bill
steve_b_wales
The one I've got is an all metal device. I suppose someone who has access to metal sheeting and tools, could copy it. I can't, so I want to buy another one. Google only came up with American ones. Heladoxa
What range are you shooting at, and what do you want it to do? Fall over? Re-set itself? Spin round? or what? Bill
steve_b_wales
I have one that, when you shoot the last target, it resets itself. Range is up to 50 yards. I don't mind if I have to reset it myself though.
Toombsy
Hello mate. I'm at the Game Fair on Friday. I will have a look around and let you know if I see any, and pass on the details if you like?

Heladoxa
Shouldn't be too difficult to make something, a man of your calibre. All you need to know is if you have hit the target. The very simplest thing I can think of, that does not require welding, is a piece of channel iron, width and length to suit your shooting ability. At one end drill a hole about 1/2" diameter through both flanges, poke a piece of steel rod through holes and support it with a piece of whatever you've got each side. There it will hang tantalisingly waiting for you to hit it from 1000 yards when it will swing wildly. No need to re-set it, it will just hang. Where do you get channel? Go to your local friendly engineering shop or blacksmith, take him a rabbit or a bottle of Sainsbury's finest and he will probably give it to you. Good luck Bill

Frenchieboy
If you do not have the tools or time to make one yourself why not get a friend to make one for you. It doesnt have to be anything elaborate, just a swinging/hanging affair. A piece of mild steel rod about 1/4 inch diameter can be bent into an inverted U shape for the "hanging frame" and then all you need are a few round metal discs (Around 10 guage metal should suffice for a .22 LR) of varying sizes (according to your shooting ability) suspended from the "Hanging Frame" by a couple of lengths of "bathroom plug chain" (The discs don't even have to be perfectly round). You can set this type of target up at whatever range you want in just a few seconds and will set it swinging merrily every time you hit it (And give an audible signal as well), and the metal disc (if suspended by 2 lengths of chain) will quickly resettle for the next shot! This type of portable target could easily be made up for a couple of pounds in well under an hour and last for ages! (Am I brilliant or what?)
