Aldous Huxley
Hi, it turns out even though I have not got my SGC or Fac through yet (another bloody 4/5 weeks) I already have a shotgun or two lined up. My cousin held a Tolley s/s shotgun for my dad and now I am picking it up. Does anyone have evena cursory knowledge of this shotgun manufacturer or price? scolopax
If its a Tolley double eight bore then its worth next to nothing, obsolete you see. In fact as a favour I would give you 400 quid for it . Tolley were a Birmingham gunmaker who had an excellent reputation for making solid reliable wildfowling guns, magnum twelves, tens, eights and fours. They are very much sought after, a therefore worth a few quid..
Aldous Huxley
It is a 12 guage if I am not wrong. Dad picked it up for £350 10 or so years ago.
Fatcatsplat
I've got a 12G Tolley Hammergun (boght from Wabbitbosher). There's a little bit of information on them on the web but not overly detailed. As Scolopax says, they were Birmingham based and had a shop in London as well (but only as a retail outlet i believe). It you google them, the full name is J and W Tolley.
Aldous Huxley
Fatcatsplat, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it and what is its condition like?
