cluais
Hi All i was out last night with the .204 ruger and had forgotten how much noise it makes is there any subsonic load out there for the 204... Also am i right in thinking that a moderator would make no difference unless you use subconic loads...
steve_b_wales
A moderator will makw a hell of a difference. True, it won't suppress all the noise, but it will cut it by at least 70%. A moderator also helps to reduce felt recoil. I use T8's on my rifles, and the 'sound' is taken to the target. I would recommend one. cluais
O i tought you had to use special amo with moderators. So Moderators will work with what ever amo you shoot with....
garyb
Yes and No... Some are fussy some are not. For example my 223 wont shoot anything less than 55grn with a mod... yet it will same whole 50grns all day long without the same mod. casts_by_fly
a moderator will take away all of the muzzle blast and the 'boom' when you squeeze the trigger. You will still get the zing/crack of the bullet as it is plowing through the air above the speed of sound. The boom is what you hear without a moderator and are the person behind the trigger. If you are a few hundred yards away you won't hear much boom but you'll hear the crack of the bullet. With a mod on you'll only hear the crack of the bullet no matter where you are. Thanks, Rick
cleaner4hire
I have an ASE cqb on my 20TAC and its only just a smidge louder than my modded HMR. Defo worth getting one imo.
cluais
Ok Lads thanks but what type of mod would best suit the Ruger 204....
cleaner4hire
i really rate the ase cqb i have, its well made (pretty much bomb proof) , not too long and does a very good job of reducing the noise. Seeing as the 204 ruger uses the same size bullet as the 20tac i cant see you being disapointed if you bought one.
