Harnser
Big Dave and me hope for a good day out tomorrow on the pigeons and the ducks and geese . We have arranged to meet up at noon for a bit of pigeon shooting on the stubbles and will shoot through to about 5 pm and then we intend to go down to the irrigation ditches for an evening flight on the ducks and geese . The two irrigation ditches are quite big ,one is about 300 yards long and 50 yards wide ,the other is about 200 yards by about 100 yards . Both these ditches have been full of ducks and greylags for most of the summer . There are more geese about on the farms I shoot on and the neighbours farm than I have seen for a long time . I dont know why this should be but we need to shoot a few to get the numbers down a bit . They have been playing havock on the grass meadows paddling every thing down and making a mess with all the droppings . We also have a large number of canadas on the water as well . So we will give it a go tomorrow and see what happens . Will post tomorrow and let you all know how we got on . Anser 2 if you are reading this I now know what anser 2 means , was looking on the internet for wildfowl and saw the name of the greylag goose , Anser ,Anser . Harnser . starlight32
Starlight , read the post again and eat your heart out . Turbo ,being retired do have its advantages ,dosent it Starlight .Harnser . I am not the least bit jealous of anyone who is out just because I cant go whatsoever. However I hope it lashes down with rain and there is not a bird in sight. If you do see any birds I also hope all your guns jam too. Like I say I am not bothered -even if you do put a post up that says you had a bad day and accidentally fall in a ditch on the way back and got soaked with mud........ Regards 'Not bothered' Edited August 31, 2009 by starlight32
