robmiller
Right. Budget about 3k. Looking for a small 4x4 where i can use it on and off road. Nothing hardcore. Bit of lamping on fields, few tracks. Fairly comfortable on the road, reasonable fuel economy and plents of room for a load of **** in the back. Come on.... Conygree
suzuki jimny, economical, very good car, cheap to run, get an 03 for £3000 if you search hard I brought one for my wife as new 02 - great little car - really good off road and fun on road but no mod-cons but reliable. last winter fitted snowchains on the back and had great fun in 12" of snow, in fact using 1/4 of road type tyres std fitment, with a set of snowchains it can get out of most muddy situations. As a sort of road test my wife took a chap as passenger offroad, he said to her," I've done a bit of offroading" and advised her where to go - arriving ok he was well impresed with the Jimny off road, so she asked him what offroading he had done, " oh I'm a tank comander"
al4x
the Jimney hasn't exactly got a lot of room in the back though has it 3K will get you an older version of most of the regular 4x4's It will get you a passable discovery or a good fourtrak. I bought my L200 for 3K and haven't looked back set of decent tyres and its a spot on shooting vehicle and gets used every day as its pretty good on road as well
robmiller
Seen Mitsubishi L200, and a Pajero. Also a twin cab ford ranger. Whats tax like on them all do people find? The jimny, i see where people are coming from, but would prefer a diesel and something a touch bigger.
al4x
the L200's are £185 pajeros will be slightly more unless they fit in the new tax bands when you'd better be prepared to bend over and let Gordon have his wicked way with you
guss109
Think the tax is worked out on emissions as my old L200 cost more to tax than my new shaped one as its got a euro 4 engine so only costs £160 to tax so it even works out cheaper than the wifes mini wich is strange as its .9 of a litre bigger
