marcros
I have the offer from a friend of a Theoben Rapid S Type in .177 but would prefer to have it in .20. Unfortunately, these seem few and far between. what is involved in the calibre change- is it something that could be done in a small workshop, o is it a job for the professionals only? Thanks in advance.

Dougy
It will need a probe and obviously a barrel change, it can be done at home if you get the parts, but if your unsure its a job for the pro's, then of course the magazines

Are barrels readily available elsewhere, or would you suggest going to Theoben directly?

adam1
I've always been a 22 shooter until i was offered a Rapid in 177 at a price i was'nt going to miss out on, the 22 has now been sold! I am not a faddy type of person and have not changed my gun previously to this for a long time (years) all im trying to say is before changing anything give it a month or so of using it as a 177, I use mine almost exclusivley for rabbits, If yours is going to be used in the field remember how handy the 17 shot magazine in 177 can be too. You might save yourself the time and trouble of the change, however if you do decide to go ahead have a look on the rapid7 owners club forum for plenty of advice and the for sale and swaps section. huntercarbine
Lincoln city airweapons could do this for you as they are theoben specialists, they sell aftermarket barrels as well. I would have thought btas could carry out the work as well. I'd give the .177 a go first before jumping in.
