apbuild
Hi Guys, I thought I would spend a couple of hours by the Thames today. It's the first time I've been able to go fishing this season, so I didn't expect too much! About 30 minitues from packing up after catching about twenty or so roach, (all of a couple of ounces each), who should put in an appearance but 'Charlie Chub'. Luckily, the missus finished work early so she came down with the dogs and the camera. Look forward to going again soon. Rob.

Pike
nice one - where abouts on the Thames were you?
apbuild
Pike, half way between Wallingford and Benson. The chub was taken on 4lb line with 1.8lb hook length. I was feeder fishing the far bank at around 30 yards. Took a while to bring him across the river and I had to keep his head up away from a big weed bank in front of me. I would guess it was about 3 1/2 lbs in weight. Rob.
Cranfield
Nice fish Rob, I suspect that tugged a bit on the light gear you were using.
apbuild
Cranfield, Surprising as it may seem, a hooked Chub doesn't fight as much as you would think. They just seem like a dead weight on the end of the line. However, when they do decide to run, you have to let them!! Rob.
