OJW Posted October 12, 2014 Report Share Posted October 12, 2014 Hi, can anyone advise on a cheaper (alternative to Bisley) clay pigeon shooting ground in Surrey? I really like Bisley but its expensive. I've shot at "Surrey Sporting Club" but thats only on every other weekend, I've also found another ground on google thats only on weekends. I'm looking for a ground I can turn up and shoot on during this week. I think theres another ground right next to Bisley but can't find it on the tinterweb. clayman Posted October 22, 2014 Report Share Posted October 22, 2014 Surrey Shooting School run by Alex Cobb was formerly known as Woodlands Pursuits. Its a private tuition / corporate ground by appt only. You can't just show and shoot, ring Alex before going - 01293 862216 - it is, however, 40 miles away from Bisley, so not exactly a local alternative What you really need is places like the Headley clayshoot - details of this and several other CPSA affiliated grounds that are open entry are all on the CPSA website. Newdigate CS; Cobham GC; Guildford GC etc Steve Maude runs the shoot inside ATR Pirbright at Mainstone Hill but you need to be a member to go through main gate security, or have made prior arrangements with Steve. Bisley Shooting Ground is only one of 4 clay organisations within Bisley Camp. National clays is cheaper Skeet and Trap; Bisley Gun club DTL only; but there is also the Pay and Play off Queens Rd. Its operated by Bisley Shooting Ground, ask in the clubhouse up by Evans for details, this is much lower costs than accompanied shooting up at the clock tower.
