lurchers Posted August 8, 2015 Report Share Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) I have 3 mate,I've just had a pup dropped off from Ireland but if I didn't have permission I wouldn't have a lurcher now.as the so called good hunters ramming through gates and ploughing fields up have ruined it for everybody now,but they do make good pets to though so it depends what you want. These days they are trouble on a stick, don't see how you can teach one rabbits are OK but hares are to be let alone. We ran a family line for at least 100 years. Once over the main and in my own opinion the best part to add to a running dog Fear of loud noises like gunfire their only downfall as s true alrounder. Not all granted but many Sometimes they use the brain abut to much and come off easy catches thinking that they couldn't.ive had 2 do this so now I go for a touch of collie in them. SPARKIE Posted August 19, 2015 Report Share Posted August 19, 2015 heres mine charlie i suspect he's got some kind of bull breed in him was told he was saluki greyhound when we got him but dont think its true. he was living on a scrap yard in a barn until about 4 month old, he's approx 11 month old now and has a destructive side to him as you can see from his bed......loving dog and loves a cuddle and a fuss from the kids but just needs to stop chewing when we go out. sleeps anyhow all the time and very fast hes getting stocky and stronger but has no breaks lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Got 2 saluki greys still now but they are just pets and guard dogs, used to work the running dogs before the ban and after just on the rabbits. Gave up doing that about 4 years ago. If the ban was overturned which it won't, I wouldn't have another one, it's too much work to keep them fit. I would have a pure saluki as a pet though or an Italian greyhound for the wife.
