Remember to mark the new call bird

EoinGalway
Firstly, far play on the trap, looks the business!! I've 3 Grey in a storage cage for weeks now and once the can spread they wings and move around to keep warm they will have no problem surviving! I find a good mixed diet, everything from meat to dog nuts ... I find the more birds in the trap the faster it will fill up.. don't be in a rush to whack them over the head! If you get a spare magpie let me know.. could really do with a few of those little ******* especially in the next few weeks as I'm taking a few weeks off at Christmas and intend to hunting and trapping for most of it !! P.S - is that an attempted break in, in the first picture?

EoinGalway
Hi Eoin, You weren't in Galway getting bits for a maglite Saturday were ya? Yeah I'll add more to his diet, we have sheepdogs so the nuts won't be a problem, would they eat thawed out sweetcorn too I wonder? I've got a good supply of food for him so if a few more customers come in I can accomodate them easily. I've not got any Magpie as yet, the holes are still large enough for them to fly up and out of as far as I know. I've also got a mesh metal Larsen cage out, it's up on a height to keep it away from those cats... If I start catching maggies you're more than welcome to them. The blocked up hole was dug by a mink, he climbed up the trap and couldn't get out until he dug his way out. In the first picture I've made a little timber tunnel, inside there are two set mk 6 fenns incase the ****** decised to come back. I've taken measures to make sure my crow can't get caught in them so that's not a worry  There was also a fox sniffing around the cage but he went to the big den in the sky Nope.. wasn't in galway.. I just order online now! Stock piling for Christmas at the moment, more ammo and traps than I can handle.. if this ****** weather would only improve .. lost about 200 acres of prime hunting land to water in the last week alone... Mink!! I take more pleasure in shooting these little *******! Hope you get him.. use No.4 fenn myself (only when the cage traps wont do) Let me know if you get a magpie..I'll pick up no hassle.. can only seem to get grays at the moment
