tosspot
Buyer needs to be 18 or over and it needs to be send via a RFD.FM Don't think so If you are not a dealer then as far as i'm aware no restrictions apply apart from appropriate packaging and assurance that the recipient is over 18yrs old Edited February 2, 2009 by tosspot
mickanles
as long as the buyer is over 18 i have sent and bought air rifles and pistols and used royal mail, no problems as long as not fac
TheHunter
I think you are right there TP, if you are not a dealer you don't need to be a RFD or use a RFD. The funnies you will fall foul of are 1, if you send it to a minor you could be in deep poo and 2, there is now something about transactions being face to face. Better safe than sorry ask your FEO. Andy H
From the 1st October 2007 anyone who sells air weapons by way of trade or business must be registered as a Firearms Dealer and keep records of sales. Sales of air weapons made by way of trade or business must be in person (face to face). Mail order sales or air weapons by way or trade or business are prohibited. The magic phrase is "by way of trade or business" , As a private individual with a one off sale and not engaged in a commercial business or trading company you do not need to comply with the Violent crime reduction act 2006.
