  1. Hello matey. Could you please help me with a write off figure ? My ex wife had an rta recently while on holiday in Germany. If the insurers decide to write it off, what sum of money should she hope to receive ? Her car is an Honda Civic Sport, 1.6i vtec, Vivid Blue Pearl with 17" alloys. Registered July 2005 on an 05 plate. 38,000 miles on the clock and was in very good condition prior to the accident. Thanks mate. Geoff.
  2. Yes, grain was pretty good thanks. Geoff.
  3. Thanks for the reply Martin. I have now bought one from BSA direct and fitted it on my rifle. I'm pleased with it too as its far superior in looks and quality than the MK2 stock. The only downside is i paid £190.00 inclusive of delivery but have since found out i could have got one from Uttings for £177.90 inclusive of delivery. Still, never mind, in life you win some and you lose some. LOL Geoff.
  4. Thanks for the reply matey. Geoff.
  5. I recently bough an FX stirrup pump and it apparently has a particle filter but there is no mention of this in the instructions supplied. Is the particle filter housed in the longish brass part attached to the pump just below the pressure gauge on the pump shown here ? http://www.chweston.co.uk/acatalog/Pumps.html If it is, how often should the particle filter be changed ? Geoff.
  6. I reckon Mr Murray is destined to be like Mr Henman, a 'nearly good enough to win it but not quite ' guy as far as Wimbledon is concerned. Geoff.
  7. One of my rifles is a Superten MK2 and i'm considering replacing the stock with a MK3 walnut. What's the general opinion on the quality of the MK3 walnut stock and is it oiled ? Geoff.

  14. A merry Christmas and happy new year to you too matey. Geoff. :yp:
  15. I generally just walk slowly around and shoot as and when something turns up. Occasionally i sit down near a rabbit bury for a flask of tea with my rifle close at hand, keeping very quiet and still until a rabbit comes above ground; i then shoot it if it's within range. Sometimes i get several rabbits and sometimes absolutely nothing at all. This method is not advisable on a very cold day though. Geoff.
  16. I have 'Pigeon Shooting' by Archie Coats and 'Shooting Woodpigeon' by A.E.B.Johnson. The Archie Coats book is particularly interesting because on page 110 he describes 'The Big Day' when he shot 550 pigeons for about 650 cartridges on 10th January 1962. Also there were no pigeon magnates in those days and Archie was a professional pigeon shooter. Geoff.
  17. Well done to you and your mate. I gave up shotgunning about 8 - 9 years in ago in favour of air rifle hunting but seeing your pictures has made me realise how much i miss shooting pigeons with a shotgun over decoys; so much so that i'm sorely tempted to apply for a certificate again. Geoff.
  18. Black and sandy/ginger rabbits occur naturally in the wild population and has nothing to do with pet rabbits being released into the wild. Geoff.
  19. I own four rifles, two in .177 calibre and two in .22 calibre. I can't make up my mind whether one calibre is better than the other or not. The .22 calibre travels at a slower speed but appears to hit the quarry harder. The .177 calibre travels at a much higher speed but doesn't appear to hit the quarry with as much force. I like using both calibres and bag similar numbers of rabbits whichever i use. Geoff. PS. I can't offer an opinion on .20 as i've never owned or used one.
  20. Thanks matey, Geoff. :look:
