  1. I shoot Olympic skeet (OSK). My gun is a Beretta 682 Gold E skeet. This has 28" barrels fixed 'tula' style chokes ( a flare rather than a constriction). At my club half a dozen or so of us regularly shoot OSK with a mixture of Beretta DT10s, SO4s and Browning GTIs. All 28" barrels. I think it was just the trend for 70/80s guns to have shorter 26 inch barrels. There is no reason why this Miroku can't be classed as a skeet gun if it has 28" fixed skeet choked barrels and certainly no reason why this couldn't be used for English skeet. Good luck with your sale!
  2. Just got an invector plus skeet choke for my winchester sx3 from Midway uk. £29 Dunno if you can get them cheaper elsewhere?
  3. It's not the carts as we all use the same ones and it happens with different brands. The three of us who go shooting all have SX3s. Two of us have the 3" walnut feild version 28" barrels, no problems. His is the only 3 1/2" 30" barrel so could be a difference in the chamber. Even so it should be able to cope with 3" loads effortless. Either way doesn't seem to be a common problem so a trip back to Browning Int for it is needed me thinks!
  4. No not homeloads. Although it's a 5 shot he puts in the restricter plug and wildfowls with it and as we're in scotland and all our shooting is goose shooting over stubble it's mostly 50g No 3 lead shot we use. Either Gamebore Mammoth or Fiocchi. I belive it does it with clay loads too.
  5. I have the greylags too. We put them out with the silo's to get a bit of movement but when the light gets in the fuds really look good, very good colour and feather detail.
  6. Thanks for the reply. Will check the pin compaired to mine and have a closer look at the bolt face.
  7. As title, My mates SX3 (it's the 5 shot camo one) seems to blow the primer out while cycling the spent cartridge. This doesn't seem to affect performance or cycling untill from time to time the loose primers get stuck in behind the bolt. All we can think of is that the bolt is coming back too early and while the pressure is still in the chamber without the bolt face tight to the cart it forces it's way back through the primer?? Has anyone heard of this before with an auto or had it happen to there's? Hope this makes sense! Darren.
  8. How did you go about ordering the boyds stock? Just off there website or American ebay? Cheers Darren.
  9. just ordered some seeland estate neoprene lined wellies today from deepblue clay and field. not bad for £49. there £99 in bushwear!
  10. Thanks verry much for the quick reply. Cheers Darren
  11. Now when i look at a forum topic then the replies come up as a list and i have to click on them to view them instead of just them just being there. If that makes sense. Verry annoying! Can anyone help Cheers Darren.
  12. or anyone had a set of rubber boots with 'outlast' lining?
  13. Anyone have or had a pair of these before as i'm thinking of buying a pair with Outlast lining before the impending wildfowling season and wondering if they're any good? Cheers Darren.
  14. Well maybe "run it in" is not the correct term but it seems to be something the americans are into, looking on the web. Googled sx3 to find reviews etc but found a lot of threds from american forums saying about this. I probably won't bother but just wondered if anyone had had to do this to get their's to cycle lighter loads.
  15. Ordered a new winchester sx3 3" field 28" barrel, should be here any day now. What are your thoughts on this running in malarkie with a couple boxes of heavy carts before using lighter clay loads? Cheers Darren.
  16. Well said. Was there not a guy in essex or somewhere last year who went nuts and shot his wife, his daughter, the family pets, his wifes horses and torched the house and then shot himself?
  17. Yes, people who leave comments like that really #### me off!
  18. Made a pair of half height sticks from oak. Chistled in a bolt in one side and a nut in the other then pluged them with an end grain plug and left them proud to look like their held together with just a dowel. Then gave the whole lot five coats of danish oil. Might see if i can dig out an old belt to cut up and stick a couple of strips of leather over the top for protection. anyway what do you think?
  19. how wide is the rib? and 70mm chambers?
  20. No idea just what he said he wanted for them, i'm sure he'd be open to sensible offers.
