  10. pump verses auto ,you guys would love to see a guy called tom knap,he shoots mainly trick shots in the states, i had the pleasure of watching him here in canada ,he hand throws 5 clay targets airborn starting at the top he shoots all prior to landing, he holds the world record for hand thrown targets shot """"" 9"""""" with a bennelli auto,,,,,, i cant even hold 5 let alone throw for seperation ,,long live trick shooters martin
  11. just a query to you all ,here in canada ,we have a round fron hornady , its a .17"cal jacket ,basicaly a .22" horandy magnum r/f kneck to .17",it has i beleive around 2400 fps at muzzle an extremely flat trajectory ,it shhots well and as sniper said of his .223 explodes on impact (target twig or even grass) do you have that cal and weapon available in the uk ??, by the way im an old bristolian of birth, happy hunting people
  12. i was wondering if any of you guys remember a crossman pump that was stripped and custom rebuilt by, i believe two guys from the uk ,early 80s ??.the article i read all those years back were named something like "whaley crossman" i may have the spelling wrong ,but if my grey matter serves me the 2 guys finished this weapon off from top too bottom. it was one that i would have liked to own back then, alongside my old airsporter and hw35e ,i now have a couple of co2 pistols and a good solid hw30,good knockdown goffer guns, id love to hear from anyone who used one ,,good shooting all
  13. as far as the muzzle brake is concerned the primary use in firearms is to reduce muzzle flip or lift, therefore reducing the reaquisition of target time or loss of target sight ,the use off ported barrels in shotguns or rifles acts the same, many ipsic shooters will have a "race gun " fitted for fast and accurate rapid fire, you will find a noticable increase in sound ,though how much on a air gun im not sure, do any of you know of any significant differance i would love to hear it ,have a hw80 to trick out ,good shooting all.
  14. i have to disagree with the comment ,A poorly fitting gun will hurt, and a heavier gun will absorb much of the recoil. you have forgotten this shooter is new, there is no need to put off shooters by letting them shoot heavy/oversize loads, proving to me that the person instructing or "helping"is not that good, i would start any new shooter off with a lighter loads, powder and shot, not all shooters can afford to have the "perfect fitting gun" but can adapt well after practice, having shot a considerable amount(approx 50,000 + per year ) from both my left and right shoulder i feel i can coment on this with athourity,, good shooting martin
