    BSA super ten

Thanks for replies chaps. I do like the look of the BSA Super ten and from your replies so far nobody has said a bad word about them. Apart from them being pellet fussy but I think most Air rifles are pellet fussy. do any of you know the weight of the super ten is. thanks again for replies chaps. Kipper:)
  6. Hello chaps and ladies. I have got a AA S410k. .22cal. I am very happy with it and have no probs with it. I am fancying a .177 as well. ( I wont be selling the AA S410). I like the look of the BSA Super 10 with the bull barrel, have you used one or have you got any views on them. thanks in advance. kipper
  7. I have purchased a magtame speed controller in realtree camo. It looks really well made. I hope to try it out over the weekend, If I get the chance. I will let you know if it works when I have tried it. KIPPER

    Would you...

The phesant belongs to who ever's land its on. (I think) so if you are shooting land that has phesants on from surrounding game crops that dont belong to the farm that you are shooting for. AND THE FARNER SAYS ITS OK FOR YOU TO SHOOT THEM YOU ARE OK. However if you are shooting a farm with game crops on and the game keeper see's you shoot a phesant he probably won't be a happy chap. He will probably have wealthy gents paying good money to shoot his phesants. try to keep everybody happy. NOT ALLWAYS POSSIBLE. i DID SAY "TRY" kIPPER

    Squirrels

I had the same problem with a mixie rabbit last weekend, first shot close range,it was still hopping about, 2nd shot very close range still kicking and strugaling. 3rd shot point blank range dead apart from nerves twitching. i hate to see rabbits with mixie what a horible way to suffer and aventually die. Pin I would love to see you wring a squirels neck, I have seen the mess they make of dogs faces :o rather you than me mate. kipper

    Would you...

I have seen lots of phesants shot with a standard AAS410 it is well up to the job. :o It's not on the airgun quarry list of things you can shoot at the top of the airgunners page , But I dont think it is illegal shoot phesants with a airgun (head shots only) . as you said you have got a game licence whitch allows you to carry them(not shoot them)I think . Make sure the land owner / game keeper does not mind you shooting his phesants. if you have been given permission to shoot pests only. might be worth asking first. Im sure some of the PW members can clarify this. kipper

  13. I have fitted a harris pod to my AAS410 today and its fine. the QD stud I used was about 12-15mm deep so measure how mutch wood you have got to play with and then ring your local gun shop up and ask then to measure the depth of the threads on A QD stud. Good luckFTS KIPPER

    slings !!!

I have been using a CHEETA SLING because you dont need to drill holes in your gun. and I have been able to use the sling on both my air rifles and my shot gun. (comes in handy for shoty when rough shooting and using ferret to bolt the rabbits). It also improved my accuracy when taking standing shots with air rifle because it is made from elasticated rubber and pulls the gun firmly into your shoulder. some one off of this forum recommended it to me (terry I think his name was) at the time I didnot like the Idea of drilling holes into my stock. It has worked very well for me. however today I drilled a hole in the stock to fit my new harris bypod. sorry not mutch help to you thoe. Kipper
  15. Hello chaps have any of you used a speed controller on your magnet. Do they work, or are they just another gimick. thanks Kipper
  16. I thaught the same first time I saw a magnet, How wrong was I, bet 99% of pigeon shooters have used one. As the saying goes "dont judge a book by its cover" I have not seen any of these sillosocks so cant coment my self Kipper

    hw97k

I had a Weihrauch the one with the gas ram, HW90 I think. It was very good never let me down and I have no bad thaughts about it, now I have got a AAS410K the best air rifle I have ever owned. IMO. I also have a BSA Super sport. My first ever Air rifle. my dad braught it for me when I was 14. so I have had it for about 15 yrs now. Its still got the origonal spring in it and I have never had a single problem with that gun eather. nice little light weight springer. bit noisy and lots of recoil compared to the air rifles of today thoe. Good luck I hope you find what you are looking for in a air rifle. If you can save that bit more money up and buy a pcp. you wont regret it. KIPPER
  18. good work and good pics. thanks for sharing that memrable day with us. KIPPER
  19. Dont stand there taking pictures CALL THE FIRE BRIGADE. unless you livr in IRAQU. KIPPER
  20. Gun cabinet would be the better option IMO, right tools for the job. As you said "its expensive gear" what would it cost you to replace them if your house got broken into? would you be covered by your insurance company? and as for "there judt air fifles" they are still leathal weapons in the wrong hands mate, Im not having a go at you just agreeing with you. get a gun safe. I have got 1 shotgun and 3 air fifles in my gun safe. as I said earlier they are also usefull to keep valuables in or any cash you may have laying around. Its a good Idea you have got protect yourself and the genarel publick mate, there is enough guns out there in IDIOTS hands allready. Good luck I hope you find a safe that suits your needs. thanks Kipper
  21. Interesting, good to see the diferant techniques and the experamenting. good groups and good work batmancaver. kipper
  22. thanks for all the replies. last week I braugth a deben max pro lamping kit, and a harris swivel by-pod, the lamp is fantastick. I went out with it on friday night in some fields at the back of our caravan site(no Im not a pikie). usually there is dozen's of rabbits but with a full moon a heavy frost and fire works in the distance the rabbits were few and far between the ones we did see were off before we could get close enough for a shot. however I approched the spot where we allways see rabbits almost guaranteed to see a couple. I flicked lamp on and there it was, a pair of eyes @ about 25-30 yards just where the rabbits allways are. I lined him up in the cross hair and when I was on target I squeezed the trigger. followede by the crack of the pellet making contact with the prey, and the lights went out. I kept the lamp on and dimed it down as my dad walked over to pick dinner up, when he got to where it was he said **** me as he picked up a bloody grait big hare. I could not beleive it. I was well chuffed with myself . the crop he was sat in was about 6-7" high. if I new it was a hare I probably would not have taken the shot. but he is in the fridge covered in maranade. I could not beleive how mutch meat he had on him. Hope you dont start slating me for this . is it legal to shoot hares this time of year I have not had chance to fix the by-pod to the gun yet so I cant coment on that yet. (AAS410k) thanks kipper
  23. Good point poacher as the saying goes practice makes perfect. thanks Kipper
