  1. that is the video i talked about in the picture section. It shows the red deer hind and the buck we saw yesterday morning. Video - high quality (17mb) Hubertus
  2. Was yesterday morning out in the fields with my girl friend. He wanted to shoot a boar. When we drive into the hunting district we saw some herds of red deer. One had a white hind. Nice to see. While sitting on the high seat the wind was bad and turned all the time. We saw one red deer hind and one good buck (6 points). But no boar. It was a very lovely morning at a nice place: Some grassland surrounded by the forest. We enjoyed it even if my girl friend had no success. Hunting is not shooting all the time as many antis believe... I have uploaded a video of that morning in the video section. Hubertus
  3. No prob Hubertus @nttf: thanks for the explanation you made concerning hunting in canada. You live in that country and know of course more than me. Hubertus
  4. A small creek with very fresh and tasty water. I like drinking water from nature and eating fish from nature That is a typical place for grouse. We heard them there everywhere. Melt water coming down from the hills. THE END Im happy that you enjoyed the pics i shared. It was really one of the best trips i have ever made. I had some really interesting hunting in a great landscape. We had some really brilliant days in the camp and while hunting. Im absolutely sure, that i havent been the last time to Canada. I love that country and will return as soon as possible. And the best is: i already got an invitation for living in a trapping hut and hunting wolves in the winter from the guide who have taken my out for bear hunting. Hopefully i have the time in winter to do that...! If i go i will take again lots of pictures and share them here Hubertus
  5. So i will upload the last pictures (still got some more but i have shared now the most beautiful pics in my opinion). Bear in a tree. Mountains We got new snow over night. At the very far end of the valley you can see the small piece of the lake. Thats were our camp was.
  6. Hi King ratcatcher, i never go for headshots on any species! The target is much more smaller compared with the chest and the head is the most moving piece of the body! If you dont hit it right and hit the jaw or like that it causes really big suffering of the creature. As you can see in the video it took only seconds for the bear to die. It was an absolutely clean kill. The guide was watching the bear all the time with the binoculars and saw that he had a good shot right behind the shoulder (he says it in the video in german). I couldnt see it because of the recoil of the .338 Win Mag. Best wishes, Hubertus You are absolutely right! But for bigger game then roe deer it happens quite often that they still go some meter with absolute deadly shots! Wild boar for example. In most cases they go some meters (up to some hundreds). Hubertus I was told they dont do in normal situations. They can be dangerous if they have lost their shyness for humans or if they are wounded. But in normal cases they ran like hell if the smell or see a human. Hubertus
  7. Yes i did. But the position was closer than the last position you can see in the video. It was 20m when i fired. Hubertus
  8. I have just uploaded a video of the first bear i shot. Hope you guys enjoy it. This one is for broadband (10mb): Bear hunt - high resolution This one is smaller but also lower quality (3mb): Bear hunt - low resolution Best wishes, Hubertus
  9. Must correct myself. Got some minutes ago the results of the measurement from the second bear: 19 8/16 inch. So same size as the first one. I thought he have been smaller. So shot two bears and both 19,5 inch. Had so much luck! Hubertus I have already landed when i come back to Germany. But it wasnt soft. It was quite hard to leave that beautiful country :o If im right (NTTF please correct me if im wrong) you are allowed by law to shoot any bear with the exception of cubs and females with cubs. But we were looking for old male ones. As foreigner you need a guide. He tells you which bear is shootable. What do you mean with the part to play? Dont understand it. Hubertus
  10. Hi NTTF, i loved Canada now! It is so wide. Really unbelievable for an european! Im sure i wasnt there the last time. Will come back as soon as possible Hubertus Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------ And some more pics Its unbelievable where you can drive threw with a Quad. They are really superb and a lot of fun driving them. That is the second bear i shot. We stalked him in the rain. Was a cracking stalk. Shot at 35m. Got again a lot of adrenalin. It was again an old male. A little bit smaller than the first one. Me on the left with my second bear and on the right the other german hunter with his bear. And same scene from the front. Look what a big neck the bear has. Preparing my second bear.
  11. That is really a very nice group. I just asked in the other thread for the accuracy of your gun. Question is no answered Hubertus
  12. That is a really really nice rifle. I like also the camo on it. I heard that the sako varmint is a very accurate rifle. But have never shot one. How loud is it with Subsonic Ammo and Moderator? we are not allowed to have moderator in Germany :-( Hubertus
  13. that is quite a nice rifle. Im wondering how loud is a .223 with moderator on it? Hubertus
  14. that is really a big bag. But im wondering if you guys shoot at the moment every rabbit you see because they have young ones at the moment?!? Hubertus
  15. interesting trophy konings! Waidmannsheil! Hubertus
  16. Hi Frank, the farmer must be happy now Well done. Hubertus
  17. Some more pics That is some of the rain forest called wood. It is quiet wet there. Its absolutely thick. Some really big trees. Not sure if they were Hemlock or Spruce. A nice morning for stalking bear. The landscape there was looking quiet different on different places. Really interesting. Here some high rocks. These small creeks where everywhere. Cool and fresh water. It tastes well. Also a nice place. It was quiet high in the mountains. Still a rest of snow.
  18. Hello SS, we were north west of Vancouver. Hubertus
  19. A nice bag. Where you stalking them or how did you hunted them in the evening as you said? Hubertus
  20. That is really a good and interessting buck. Well done! Keep on! Hubertus
  21. Strange behaviour you have on the island. Drinkng out of a bin Best wishes, Hubertus
  22. Nice red deer you have there. Didnt knew, that there are red deer in england. Always thought that they have them only in Scotland in the UK. It was a good buy your camera. Hopefully we will get some more pics Hubertus
  23. A nice mixed bag. The rabbits look so small. Are they all young ones? Hubertus
  24. Hi Ruud, im happy, that you like the pictures and the story. But its not me who have taken the pictures of the hunt only the other ones (where you can see me ;-) )have been made by me. You go to Hessen Forst? Which Forstamt? I do quite a lot of Hunting in the autumn for Hessen Forst as hunting dogmen (driven days). Hubertus -------------------------- And some more pics. That on the left side is the pelt of the bear i shot. The other one on the right side was shot by another hunter the same day but some hours later. We saw so many beautifl places while hunting. It was really unbevlievable. Canada is such a nice country with many water and of course a lot of waterfowl. But it was the wrong time for them. I have to go back in autumn for wildfowling And another lake. Mountains at the pacific coast. And some more mountains.
  25. Hi Harry, havent taken any meat with me because you are not allowed to bring raw meat with you. I will make a pic of the pelt when it is ready. But probably it will need 4-5 months till it is ready said the taxidermy men. Hubertus
