  1. I believe it's a MkII: MkI's were full length. MkI's had no anti bear trap mechanism. MkI stocks had no chequering to fore end. Nice rifles.
  2. That's actually a GINB Special FT Stock No.1: http://www.ginb.it/scheda_prod.php?lang=en&id=13 Cost of stock new now is 342 Euros delivered, so whole combo is a great deal!
  3. ...only banned if you're a UK retailer selling new airguns. 2nd hand airguns can be posted but ONLY Royal Mail will carry them insured. EVERY other firm, courier etc will refuse to carry if they know what it is. If you don't tell them and it gets damaged or lost they won't pay out once you claim for an airgun. RM standard parcels is the only RM service which carries items up to 1500mm, ie. an air rifle. Special Del limit is 610mm long. HTH!
  4. Any idea which Logun model it is, and is it calibre specific as some are? Thanks!
  5. As an airgun instructor at Kibworth my feelings are much the same. What a selfish person. Pre-planning such a way to top himself in front of others is despicable. I have sympathy for his plight, and for his family and the people picking up the pieces (literally) but no sympathy for the way he decided to end it all. David
  6. Lovely rifles these, I have the same one, originally as here...... My one however has had a little customisation. Stock from www.ginb.it......
  7. Well my post office is 5 minutes away and £10.58 insured for a rather heavy and long rifle isn't too bad. My 'local' RFD is 30 minutes away so the extra petrol would add £6-7 let alone the extra 50 mins travelling time. It would be useful if a courier like Interparcel would carry them though as they collect from your address, very handy! They confirmed by email that a rifle stock alone is OK, and I sent a 7 litre (empty) air cylinder via them for around a tenner recently, but rifles are a no no.
  8. Yes, that's my point to David about PF and TNT. PF's T&Cs say they WILL carry firearms (not just air rifles) but only if you're an account holder or between RFDs. I asked a few retailers pre-VCR who they used to carry rifles and when I phoned the same carriers they used I was told they wouldn't carry them. RM standard parcels carries up to 20kg and up to 1.5m long which is ideal for air rifles. However RM special delivery limit is 610mm (2 feet) long so RMSP in my experience is the ONLY way to send an air rifle insured in the UK. If PF, TNT and any others DO actually WANT more air rifle business through their doors they need to make it easier to confirm thay aren't banned and are insured! Meanwhile..... Go Royal Mail Standard Parcels Insured. It's local, it's cheap, it's reliable. I've used it 20+ times sending and receiving and not a problem so far.
  9. That's fine, no need to say if you're not asked. It's when you come to CLAIM that you're asked what went missing or was damaged and it's THEN that everyone BUT Royal Mail says "Ah....well....you're not covered you see. Look here at our restricted items list..."
  10. Suggest you read PF T&Cs David. Only if you are an account holder OR an RFD will they transport these items. TNT will not carry air rifles, or if they will they deny this - certainly they have to me. Whereas I have posted a link to the Postcomm ruling, allowing anyone faced with a Post Office denial to argue that they're wrong, you have produced no useful evidence to prove that PF or TNT will carry air rifles. When a member here claims for a missing rifle with these firms, saying "Well, David BASC had a meeting and was told you do carry them" it may carry little weight. What is needed is written, printable evidence from a robust source, such as that I have provided. Could you post a link to that please so that I and others DO have the opportunity to use PF or TNT with peace of mind? Many thanks.
  11. Just to correct a few things here....... Parcel Force will NOT carry air rifles so no point insuring one if you do plan to disguise it. If it gets lost you cannot claim for it! Royal Mail DO have to carry air rifles (and firearms in fact) due to the 2005 Postcomm ruling: http://www.psc.gov.uk/news-and-events/news...s-decision.html I have sent many air rifles by RM and my post office knows what they are and insures them. Last one, an Original 50, cost £10.58 including £250 insurance via standard parcels, takes 2-4 days. They've never lost or damaged one yet. Despite my in depth research, I have been UNABLE to find any other carrier who will KNOWINGLY carry an air rifle in the UK, and I for one am not prepared to send one uninsured. You're fooling yourself if you think your fooling them by disguising one! Oh... and while on my soapbox, if you pay or accept money for a rifle via PayPal, you are not protected by their buyer/seller protection policy as they prohibit payment for such items. AND if you mention 'rifle' or 'pistol' or 'gun' or anything like that you'll have the Police turning up on your doorstep and/or that of the buyer/seller. Yes, it happened to me and the seller on my first PayPal transaction! For any other non prohibited items, if you pay or accept money by PayPal as a 'gift' to avoid charges you are once again not protected as PayPal say a gift cannot be for goods. Also you will not always get a verified address so the person buying could give you any old address, pay by a stolen credit card and you've lost out when the money is reclaimed! Even if they use their own credit card to fund a PayPal gift payment, they can reclaim the amount after recdeiving the goods and you can't put in a PayPal claim as there were no goods involved in PayPal's eyes due to it being a gift! Hope that helps!
  12. Cheapest I can find a new one is £620 and 60% is generally accepted as being 2nd hand price in today's economy, so that's £372 Money won't be here long!
  13. Hi, Would you split and sell the rifle alone for £375 (ie 60% of new price) Thanks, David
  14. Great rifle - love mine! And look what you can do with them.......... See: www.ginb.it for choice of stocks to fit.
  15. The dark wood is Sono Kembang, the premier furniture making wood in Indonesia, bought ethically by GINB from renewable Government plantations. The light wood capping is Teak Doreng. This stock would cost £300 delivered if new. I sell stocks for GINB occasionally and a 2nd hand one usually goes for £250, making this a cheap combo at £520. Hope that helps.
  16. I'll have this please! Can collect tomorrow with cash. PM'd phone number. Here's my Diana (Original) 50, restoration......... http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/slideshow/21246701
  17. Ah....like the wooden Scorpion stocks which were used for Hornets too! Guess the channel can't be seen at the front as on the wood ones? With you now. Sounds like an easy fix.
  18. Wouldn't a nut on the stud inside the stock cause problems refitting the action, or is there enough meat in the stock depth at that point to be able to countersink the nut inside?
  19. Those keen to sell an item bump, those that don't care about selling don't. I say bring back bumping!
  20. Stock isn't walnut but another hardwood. Debadged Logun Solo. I reckon £275 for rifle/mag/silencer and £70 for scope/mounts. Bag £10. £350 the lot. Nicely balanced and good looking rifle, and very accurate.
