  1. I rang again today about my SGC as I'm now a little concerned it has gone missing!

The young lady I spoke too said that it had been logged as issued on fri but that might mean that it was not posted (2nd class) until monday morning. She said to wait until fri and if it had not turned by then they would have to circulate it as gone missing/lost/stolen and they would get another one sorted for me. :good:

  2. Not very good service you got and not the service you would expect from the police :hmm: . I know from experience that northumbria's firearms dep't are very busy with applications and they are also preparing a move from HQ to a new address for the dep't.

I have been waiting since my visit on 8th April for my certificate and I rang the dep't last fri to make sure there were no problems with my application. I was told the certificate had been posted on the day I rang (last fri) and I'm still waiting!! :hmm:

  3. What do people think of the price for the Beretta, does it seem reasonable / good / bad value?

The gun is in excellent condition, couple of small scrapes on the barrel, but the rest is spotless. Comes with a Beretta soft carrying case too, which is new. £500 good value?

The Beretta seems like very good value to me, but I'm pretty new to shotguns also so one of the more experienced guy's will know better.

  4. Not great TBH :) At least in terms of shooting. I started late coz it was pishing down first thing. It drizzled on and off for the rest of the time I was out and was blowing a gale - which showed up some weaknesses in my hide building skills! There were no birds about apart from one - no where near my deeks at which I loosed an optimistic shot in frustration. However on the positive side, I spent a few pleasant hours in the countryside watching buzzards and all sorts of other wildlife (less pigeons) and I wasn't at work  . I'm not going to get another chance to shoot for a couple of weeks so was determined to get out and don't regret it even thought the woodies remained unmolested.

That's the way, just get out there and enjoy it. :good:

  5. sorry to hijac the thread but where do you sent the application to in northumberland ?
It could take a while to get it through as they are busy at this time, 10 weeks from sending my application (6 weeks until visit, nearly 4 weeks from visit and still waiting for SGC).
