  2. Which head torch to buy

    I am after a nice head torch can anyone recommend one  just needs to be able to cope with short distance for dressing rabbits etc while in the field

    Don't want to spend a fortune not bothered about being able to see for long distance but won't something that will not be flat after 30 minutes use

    I had a set like that 40 years ago I can still remember reading each issue on all the different species then going out with my dad and trying out the things I had read I soon became a very accomplished young angler and still fish today it' a great offer and will be a huge benefit to someone 

  13. what mag scope to use

    Hi All

    I am after a decent second hand scope to go on my new 22lr but not sure what to go for I know its all personal preference but what mag would you go for on a rimfire

    I am looking at 4-16 x 50 and 6-24 x 50 both with adjustable side parallax I will use the rifle for both day and night shooting using my nitesite wolf rtec at night

    whats your thoughts on these mags

    I bought a cheap bipod off ebay  £12 thought it was a gamble and would be rubbish but actually I was surprised and it' plenty good enough for air rifles and very sturdy with extendable legs spring loaded does what it says on the tin no complaints my end

    Hi All

    I was setting my new scope up today fired 3 pellets then the HW 100 failed to fire just a thud from the gun, tried again but nothing tried again and again with no mag in but just a dull thud.

    Rang a chap called Simon he owns a company called the Air Gun Doctor near Cannock its actually in the middle of Cannock Chase he said he would wait for me to get there bearing in mind this is a Sat afternoon. I got there and Simon set about stripping the gun turns out this second hand gun I had bought had been messed with before by some butcher. there was something wrong with the piston and another part Simon spent over an hour sorting it out even had to machine part of the gun to put it right gave it a full service all new seals etc etc.

    The gun was set at 11.7ftlbs and it is a sweet as new it is a pleasure to shoot now I thought it was good when I got it but now I really now how a Hw 100 should be, A massive thank you to Simon the Air Gun Doctor I will never take my airgun any where else but to him in the future and he said it should be good now for 2 years average use.

    Just thought I would share my experience from a very good guy and the price was good too

  20. scope mount advise

    I have just bought a second hand scope its a 1980 Tasco 3-9 x 50 AG japan optics just gone to fit it to my HW100 and the end of the scope is touching the barrel I need about another 2mm the mounts are sports match standard height (I think) what is the next size up in height is it 30mm high

    Any advise welcome on what is the best way to solve this issue (wont be changing the scope) :lol:
