  1. it is just a matter of time

    before what?

shotguns in Britain are about as restricted as they can be without millions in government funding. Rifles are restricted to a handful of lawful activities.

You can no longer possess Handguns, or semi automatic rifles (.22 exempt of course)

Here in NI its a little different. They want to restrict handgun ownership further than current legislation allows, but it's not possible (for reasons that I won't go into)

  2. probably will, its starting to get a bit, eh, "interesting" down my neck of the woods at the mo

It's not just south armagh heating up at the moment, there's been 3 bomb scares in the last few days in Lurgan

All of them around the train station area (Lough road and North street, for those that know lurgan)

  3. Not enough science explained to verify the viability of it, but that could just be down to patents, etc.

What I can say is that their maths is way off, 100Kw for 100 homes??? maybe 5 or 6, but nowhere near double figures.

So for now, I remain sceptical

"phoney, until they prove it's baloney"

  4. I think the problem lies in the definition of immigrant. I think we can define these people into two categories:

Immigrants that are looking for work and leave their families on other countries and come here to work to b able to send money back and live.

Immigrants that head here to take advantage of the UK Healthcare and benefits systems, live of the state and do not provide any return to the UK economy.

These are completely different people. If you have a problem with the first, then the problem i feel lies with the age old problem which l stated earlier. If like me you have a problem with the second, then l think we could be getting somewhere! These people should be returned to their country of origin and /or we should be talking to their country of origin about compensation. Then see if their own country allows them to travel under false pretences.

    Just my opinion -

    Tom

Whilst these migrants, for the most part, maintain currency transfer within the EEA, they do leech it out of the UK

In effect, the UK economy is being leached to other countries. Now whilst this might not seem so bad, re-distributing wealth within Europe, the home nations of these migrants are losing out on skilled workers, and so their economies recede. catch 22, "innit" :good:

  5. I used to live in Newsome when I was at Uni in Hudd. We have had a fresh few inches of snow every morning this week where I live, it meant I was left house bound today, but got the pups out a walk and they throughly enjoyed it.

just started snowing in north Armagh

  6. I'm planting a few hundred vines. To protect them I've put up a deer fence, and am now considering the threat that rabbits might be. :good: I'm going to protect the vines to a to a height of 8".

Will rabbits eat the bark of the vine and therefore be a problem, or will the vines be okay (after the shoots reach above rabbit head height?)

    yes

  7. world of warcraft was the bane of my life, its so damned addictive its unbelievable and so much fun. after about 3 years and god knows how many hours playing it i gave up.
