the round has by far enough energy at that distance,didnt you read the first post,the bullet failed,which can happen at any distance

are you blind,the rabbit was dead within a few seconds,the shot was superb showing the skill of the OP to be able to adjust and make the hit 2nd shot,just showing anything wounded could have been followed up, I can safey say hand on heart I have "never" cocked up a long shot,yes ive missed and missed clean just like anyone else at any distance. Iam still waiting for your answer regarding never wounding,missing or lossing an animal with the greatest of respect Alex if you dont like long range shooting dont read the posts as its clear to see you get upset

well you that 25 years I would have hoped to learn something of the what the modern firearm is capable of,how long have you had a centre fire there is no issues,who are we to say what is long range ?? the range is up to the individual skill and confidence the shoy didnt go wrong the guy missed with the first shot and hit with the 2nd,so no different to anyone missong at 60yards and then taking a 2nd shot to hit the guy isnt willy waving hes showing a real life situation what can be done and what can happen,again its not a fairy tale from your shooting mags if you can post on here hand on heart and say you "never" miss or never "wound" at your given distance then I will take my hat off to you

showing your very little in experience again in ballistics and bullets,animals behave in very strange ways the more you shoot the stranger it gets,you should get out more and see it in real timer and not from the cover of a magazine one question my freind how long have you been shooting

you obvioulsy DIDNT read the OP thread properly did you go back to the begining and take a proper read especially the part about the bullet not opening up as usual,again shoot enough and you may find this happening Mmmmmmmmmmm maybe with a pencil size hole through its ribs it is possable for a rabbit to run on adrelalin untill its bleeds out of course which obvioulsy this one did educate pork,damm right you have no idea and your showing your very inexperienced when it comes to a rifle and bullets

Oh talking out of my backside,I dont think so.do you even shoot mate ?? obvioulsy you have never seen an animal run on adrenalin with a bullet through its vitals,as I said this is the real world not stories in airgun world I would be very proud of a 880 yard calculated shot,now you bring "not sporting" into this,I asked someone once what this exaclty ment,he couldnt answer it either,so lets hear your words of wisdom on the subject

exactly,real life situations not fairy stories from a shooting magazine wheres theres alwaya a happy ending Alex we go out to kill things,**** sometimes happens,we have to deal with it,if you cant deal with dont shoot,its that simple

yes the first shot was a miss,so what havnt you ever missed with a rifle,I have plenty of times.then re adjusted and shot again. have you ever thought the rabbit was running on adreliaine(spelling) as it had just been shot at,it fell over dead after a short run,just like a gamne bird would do if not hit in the pattern or taken too high it shows the shooter to be a very skillfull shot to miss then adjust to make the hit. you forget more live animals are missed or wounded close quarter than any at long range,so where does your ethics come into it,maybe you shouldnt be shooting live animals if you think its all rosey

not if its gone into cover mate or down a hole,you can pick holes as much as you like 60 yards or 600 yards wounding can and will happen,actually go out and shoot enough you will find out. its a bold sweeping statement that long range shooters "dont give a toss" I could say the same about some short range shooters I have met. the long range shooter will take all the condition into account and only fire if there right whilst the opertunist 60 yard shooter will take the shot no matter what so whats the difference here ?? what happens if the game shooter pricks a pheasent,does he put his gun away leave the drive and look for it no it may get pick but 99% of the time its gone too far back and will eventually fall out the tree and die. the long range shooter uses a caliber carrying enough energy to kill an animal no matter where its hit (not applicable to deer)as the video shows,hit perfectly and still ran "it happens at any range"

outstanding shooting,yes the rabbit did run,but they also run when hit with a 22 rimmy at 60 yards then fall over and die people who atually shoot will understand this,unlike the google armchair shooters that will rip this one to pieces well done

OK in that case if using factory you will have to se what your local RFD stocks as there nothing worse than running out and not being able to get what your shooting. I would look towards the 70 to 80 gr weight only issue you will have on the bigger deer your shot placement would have to be good thats why I ask whats the main thing you will be shooting

Hi mate first of all will you be relaoding or using factory,next thing is what will you be shooting most deer or fox and the last thing what speices of deer will you be taking

always fancied one of them a mate used to run one with great results,what camera are you going to get

here here,makes me want to go out and buy a video camera just to shut the doughters up who aint got a clue,but then without them "telling you its wrong and cant be done" the site would soon become boring

I see and thats your take on it is it so what happens when you stalk into a deer,rabbit or a hare and you get that close you could touch it,is that sporting ?? what about shooting a game bird on the end of the barrel where a definate kill is going to happen,is that sporting or do you leave it and wait for one way out of your confort zone with a chance if missing or wounding is that called challenging or sporting where not talking about "fieldcraft" where ta;king about "sporting" field craft is something totally different,but I thank you for your contribution at least you ahd a go unlike Mungler the great also what is "normal circumstances"

far from it mate,a long shot has to be calculated and executed when the condition are correct if not theres always another day,uisng the right scope mate 600 yards isnt thats far to see clearly
