  1. been out twice picking up this week a 400 and 250 birder the dogs where shattered,Iam back again tomorrow on the same estate for a 1000 bird day, dont know how the dogs will cope with this one in the heat
  2. so your selling them and you wont stand any guarantee, thats ilegal mate seeing your the retailer, are you saying the buyer has to send the unit back to the USA which will cost quite a lot and then pay the import duty on its return into the country sorry mate foe the little you save I will shop in the UK and if I get a problem I can just drop it on there counter and they will do the rest good luck,I would state your warranty consitions though to prospective buyers as your not talking a few pounds here
  3. Hi mate I presume you give 12 month warranty with each unit
  4. no need to be confused at all novice reloaders ask the same question. the answer is all rifles all different especially factory ones, take two identical rifles and both will have different throat measurments, this is so ANY factory ammo will chamber and fire safely if you have found the lands and hardly any bullet is in the case, push it in so theres at least the dia of the bullet in the case this will ensure the bullet is seated square into the case neck and not tipped to one side failing that load them to magazine length as what ever they measure you going to have to load them in the mag unless you single feed,so you may as well start at that measurement
  5. 52 gr Berger Varmint un beatable for accuarcy and consistancy
  6. obvioulsy a bad batch of ammo,it happens take it back to the shop and get it changed
  7. I wouldnt go shorter than 20 inch I presume you will be reloading as factory ammo may not perform in a barrel that short
  8. my first day out this season picking up yesterday on a very large comerical shoot, anyway I was chatting to the chap on the game cart before the first drive, found out he runs his own shoot quite local to me,I asked the question about the deer population and managed to bag permission on 1000 acres, plus maybe more from his neigbours just goes to show how a simple conversation can turn out, happy days
  9. I woundnt have either, you reload so it matters not what you buy, look at the 7mm 08 far better ballistics
  10. you have a real smart mouth and yet again giving no help at all to the OPS question to answer the OPs question with usefull info here you go take a look through this http://www.reloadersnest.com/query_bw.asp?CaliberID=5&BulletWeight=70 real time data from people who have actual loaded bullets, hope it helps, but take note what the main make of powder that is used good luck
  11. totally agree there easier than foxes,Iam just off out now I can guarentee seeing half a dozen, wish I could say the same for foxes
  12. hit them in the middle with a large caliber, they aint going to get up
  13. my thought exactly Ive seen them killed with a 22 rimfire, whats a "qualified marksman" someone who can hit a 4 inch target at 100 yards, what a joke, theres people running around with level 1 whos never shot a deer never mind a badger, but the bit of toilet paper they get states there more than suitable
  14. when I run a 22.250 the best bullet I found was the 52gr Berger Varmint, loads better quality than the Nosler and V Max and outformed them both
  15. I agree gassing is the best way to get rid of the entire set,but shooting them to thin them out is a good method providing a suitable caliber is used.lets face it I dont think anyone wants to get rid of them all. a varmint type bullet wouldnt be the best option as they can blow up on the skin as there skin is quite tough,a bonded type bullet would be the better option
  16. I can see that anything to keep the tre huggers happy, but seeing no one shoot badgers how do the people who are suspopsed to give training know how to do it themself and also what qualifies them to teach ?
  17. just been reading in the shooting press that when the goverment allow cotrolled badger culling in 2012 people will have to have level 1 DMQ and also have to go on a course to be shown the humane way to shoot a badger now my thoughts are who will run this course and what makes them quailifed to teach others how to shoot a badger corrctly surely if you have level 1 which is also trained hunter status ( I use that term loosly)you are more than capable of putting a bullet into the chest of head of a badger,as let face it there never very far away so is this just another making scam for certain shooting organizations
  18. Hi mate seems like you are doing everything right burt as I said the programmes are not pefect all the time due to the BC published data of the bullet your using. you need to get your data and field test it at various distances and then adjust the programm setting namely the BC number to match your actual field data,I do have a DVD by best of the west "how to shoot beyond beleif" which expalins the therory behind it and how to do it. it shows you the various stage form finding your load and velocity to then field testing, once the correct data was put in to the programme the drop chart was bang on. you will find some bullets will be perfect using the same programme as there BC is correct and not made up
  19. its usually the BC of the bullet, the makers claim a hugh high BC and when you actually field test your data you find its slightly out,you have to fudge the BC figure to corespond with your actually drops on the field target this is a pefect example for the people who think setting there rifle 1 inch at 100 is going to get them to 300 yards
  20. I used to load 150gr interbonds for a mates 308 worked very very well but an expensive bullet, but if you dont plink paper its not so bad if only shooting deer,he did use SSTs but had too many runners
  21. my lad has been given an old webley hurricane springer,Ive stripped it as it was a mess and he wants it painted in cammo, whats the best paint to use on the stock and the metal work
  22. again you assume wrong (not even heard of it) its getting a habbit now isnt it
  23. wild cat whisper, there great I have one on mine
  24. you assume too much sir,500 yard is a long way yes it can be done but no I wouldnt, looks like I was right "cant teach and old dog new tricks" you can find a lot of good info from the web if your prepared to listen and actually understand a subject, sorry my comic reading days are long gone when the danday and beano where out,now if you mean shooting magazines well if you believe whats in them thats your fault how much more original do you want by telling the facts which cannot be disputed no matter how many petty insults you want to post, there are people on this site who want to learn judging by my PM box who just wont post beacuse of people like you
  25. boring bring something interesting and constructive to the table pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee, instead of your rubbish, the ols saying "cant teach and old dog new tricks" I didnt used to beleive it but in your case its obviously true, try catching up with modern times sir, your never to old to learn,ir are you just stuborn and cant accept it in fact put me on your ingore list please
