  1. I never went down that route in the end. I did the course because i was going to do a bit of self employed groundwork on a part time basis and in the end went back full time with my other employer. That said i don't regret doing it and I use a saw for my own firewood etc so it is handy. I can't see how it wouldn't show commitment though because it isn't/wasn't cheap. Why are you doing it just out of interest? Dan
  2. Yep i have done it, it was a weeks course with the test at the end. The test was quite intense (well for me anyway). Maintenance part was quite straightforward but the bit in the woods was more involved. I had to fell a tree using a cut that the examiner selected(split level in my case) and get it hung up in another tree, then get it onto the deck, sned it and cut to length. I had a hell of a job because instead of rolling it out the easy way i had a lapse of concentration and did the cut the wrong side which basicly meant i had to roll it through the tree it was hung up on. Remember to always use your chainbrake before you take a step in the woods with the saw, i think they said if the examiner saw you take one step without it on you would fail. I was the only person on the course that paid for it privately the rest were all sent on it by their employers. Dan

  11. Sealife centre in Yarmouth is Ok but a bit pricy. Some good pub walks around North Norfolk. Billy Bells skeet range is in Yarmouth, bit rough but after nearly 2 weeks in the caravan with kids you will be gagging to go. Difficult to say really it depends on what you like doing, there is a reasonable train link from Yarco to Norwich etc so you could explore Norfolk by train? Dan
  12. Hmm not a law expert but he must have crossed that line already surely. Sometimes I wonder if this country would be better ruled by the monarch directly instead of via a parliament which thinks so short term because of the length of their government term. How many difficult decisions get bumped back again and again because its an election year/fear of offending or annoying an element of society etc. Dan

Well the price was good so as long as the bill reflects what was said sorted, he sounds quite relaxed about these things. Dan

Just wanted to say thanks to Graham for taking me rabbit shooting on Sat. I had a great time and although i used to do quite a bit of target shooting about 10 years ago it was a new and enjoyable experience. Cheers dude! Dan

  23. Didn't Iceland go broke? They are all still there so the people or internal trade doesn't disappear. I guess you can't borrow at a reasonable rate for quite a while?? How can we defend ourselves physically if we are broke? - Don't see why not. Is there a **** or bust final card to play or have we already played it? - put it all on red? Dan
