  1. I have multi metal wads and Sam 1. The 42g loads are next on my list to try.
  2. Its steel powder, sam 1 wad. My next ones to try are heavier shot charges, so will see what difference it makes.
  3. I am more happier with this load. I will count the pellets next time I load. A change of wad has made a massive difference. (a load from a book, not my guess work!). I have two more new reciepes to try though.
  4. After a couple of attempts a getting a decent pattern, I have tried a different recipe and change of wad. Advice welcome again. 107 pellets on paper. 39g of no 2 steel. Again shot through a fixed half choke. Im just beginning at this and slowly learning!
  5. Of course I condemn it!! Its disgraceful. Its a fair point if someone reading it saw all the disgust against it. But as someone said, putting it on here will make no difference as you are preaching to the converted. Plus its already been discussed. Maybe the only way to make a difference is to find the guide and report him. But to who?? He is doing nothing illegal, just immoral.
  6. Why put this up again... and as a first post....... Can we get this locked again. Anti's dont even have to leave their armchairs in the evenings now, just log onto pigeon watch lately. Nearly everyone condemned the video first time around.
  7. Crows can always be a problem. I made a quick vid earlier this year that may help
  8. I watched your video mate. Looks like you avoid shooting everything!! (hear you did ok in Scotland though)
  9. It was the first bird shot in the clip. It was with the pack of wigeon.
  10. I use one but in the 3 inch chamber. On its third season now. Only ever had one jam, and that was after shooting clay comp and putting 50 shells through it in quick succession. They were also very cheap 2 3/4 in cartridges as well. Im using it in the video I posted yesterday. Just as quick as a semi auto in my opinion and I have had some lovely left and rights (can you do that with one barrel ??) with it!
  11. If you need company, give me a shout. on second thoughts, I never see anything when you come!!
  12. Its a male shoveler. My first one! It was the first bird shot in the vid.
  13. A morning flight from this week. The rain has added some water to the fields and the wigeon are now using them. I tried to intercept some going back to the estuary. It was a bright sunny day and no wind. A really slow morning, nothing moved for first two hours, and didnt even see a duck till almost packing up time. But then they moved! Nearly everything was high but it was nice to see. Really happy with the dog; its not the easiest place to pick a dropped bird!
  14. Is that safe?? (selotape) I wouldnt use a pattern like that. Going to try a different wad
  15. They are Multi metal preslit. Have some different ones on order now though.
  16. Going to try a change of wad. Tried some more shells today, and all exactly the same with 70 on paper. On randomly patterned really well but one out of ten is not good enough.
  17. Thats what I was thinking. The book states 1439 fps but I dont have a chrono.
  18. fixed at half choke. It was full and full but was open out. I think in 39 grams of number 2, there is a around 150. ... 70 hit the paper, so 50 %.
  19. Just finished my first ever attempt at making some wildfowling cartridges. 39g no 2 steel through the 10 bore. Any advice welcome. The paper is 30 inch square and shot from 45yds. Gun has fixed choke so can not change it and it was really windy this afternoon.
  20. Well just finished my first ever attempt. 39g number 2 steel Just need to pattern a few now. Fingers crossed!! If I have any left after pulling the trigger!
  21. Im now trying to make my own duck loads. It very experimental at this stage but will work out a lot cheaper.
