  3. I think there is still one in Bearsden. Are you looking for indoor or outdoor range? What calibre rifle are you wanting to use?
  4. What ever skills you have try and write them so a non military person knows what you are talking about. I.E. no military mumbo jumbo. Try and keep it to 2 sides of A4 and just highlight experience.
  5. You could try South Ayrshire Stalking, Chris and his wife have a good set up, and not to far from Stranraer.

    mobile phones

I have a desire and now so do a lot of my work mates. Brilliant phone, I am due an upgrade and the geeks in the Orange shop keep saying wait, do not change as nothing can touch it at the moment.
  7. +1 on these. I have a pair for shooting and a pair for work, fortunately my work pays for a new pair every year. Emtec keep your ear mould on file for 5 or 10 years I think they said, just phone them up give them your details and they make them up and post them out.
  8. I finally went for "free" consultation this afternoon and have just got rid of the blurred vision after some eye drops, Upshot of the visit was I am suitable for surgery, cost would be £1195 per eye (cheapest option if they use a laser to open my eyes for surgery thats another £1200), with a further correction in 6 - 12 months, not to bad I thought then was told, however by time you reach 44-45 you will need glasses again to correct your long sightedness. So spend just short of £2400 and then get to wear specs again in 4 - 5 years or just accept the fact that glasses can be a pain to wear and spend the money on something useful. Tough decision there, the Bose lifestyle 235 won out over my failing eye sight.
  9. I dont say dude nor have a goatee and am 40 and I snow board, tried both including cross country skiing and much prefer boarding
  10. I suggest you call her and ask her as the home office guide lines state: 13.29 Suitable calibres for shooting deer range from .243 to .45-70. For the larger species of deer (Red, Sika and Fallow) .243 calibre is legal, but .270 and larger calibres are generally more suitable allowing a 130-150 grain bullet weight, a muzzle velocity of 2,450 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 1,750 foot pounds. For the smaller deer species (Roe, Muntjac and Chinese Water Deer) .243 calibres are optimal. See paragraph 13.32 for information about legislative requirements for the shooting of deer in Scotland, which are based on the performance of the ammunition not the calibre of the rifle.
  11. Has anyone had laser eye correction done and is it worth it?
  12. 9 1/2 years since I left after almost 14 years and can truthfully say I have never looked back. Would have been 22 years last November. Good luck in whatever you choose to do.
  13. Was suppose to be waiting for our machines to come back from flying guys offshore, however due to low cloud and freezing fog they were pushed back in the hangar and will try again tomorrow, now trying to decide where to go for dinner in Atyrau on christmas eve.
  14. What I found with our Ridgebacks was: Hold them firmly either side of the head on the scruff of their necks (where their mother would pick them up or put her teeth to reprimand them), look directly into their eyes, say no very firmly then hold until they look away. Then ignore them and go and do something else. A day or two of that and it worked a treat however now they seem to want to lick you to death instead. It could be a jealously thing with you being out all day, try ignoring the dog for first 5 or 10 mins when you get home, talk to the mrs, make a cuppa then go to the dog. I work away for 6 weeks at a time, when I get home I see her first then go to the dogs, this calms them down and reminds them where they are in our house.
  15. Beautiful photos, have you got your variation yet? They look in good condition too.
  16. What did you end up getting and where from?
  17. Oh I don't mind it to much, saves me having to make excuses for not visiting the future in laws on christmas day, biggest pain is missing xmas pheasant shoot. I take it your offshore?
  18. Working every day until the 6th January then 6 weeks off work.
  19. Thats assuming the hub is open or has gone through the back log of parcels it is holding. My work tools were DHL'd home from Kazackhstan arrived in the UK 27th November left East Midlands airport by road due to Edinburgh airport being shut, and now no one knows where that shipment has gone, they "think" it might be in a container in Edinburgh awaiting sorting.
  20. We use Beta Large Puppy for both our 8 month old Ridgeback's. We tried different brands and they were solid in the morning then runny. Now they are solid all the time and no tummy problems.
  21. Hi all, After almost £200 in the vets this afternoon getting one bleeding back paw on each dog cleaned, bandaged, anti-biotics, only to get both dogs home to find one managed to spilt his front paw which is now bleeding every time he puts pressure on it. Can anyone recommend good dog boots to try and protect their paws whilst out. I'm pretty sure its due to the rock salt some one spread across our car park or the ice on the streets that has caused this. We have been washing their paws every time we take them out, to try and get the salt residue off. Cheers Gareth
  22. Been falling steadily since about 0815. Tried to take the O/H to work in sCumbernauld, A80 from Glasgow was at a standstill, ended up having to u turn between the cones and come home, she got out and walked it into her office, to let her night shift away. Its beyond a joke now. North Lanarkshire have subbed out gritting to Amey? who appear not to work the weekends due to overtime. Even with the roads clear Thurs / Fri the council still didn't do the bins. She teaches part time when not working for her parents, and they have been told to attend their nearest schools, to child sit kids whose parents cant/wont take time off and have no child care.
  23. Shot my first Doe on that ground, and I think its just as good as his "good" ground you were going to originally.
