Decided to nip out this afternoon for a bit of roost shooting, 9 shots for 3 birds , not great but my Lab got some retrieves

Quite a few farms near me allow NPPC on, along with local lads , so its gets a bit crowded sometimes. I have spoken to some lads and they come from far & wide and usually go home disappointed .

Still on acorns around these parts, bumper crop this year

My perm has stopped swathing rape to save money. It has been quite fruitful in previous years.

It is illegal to shoot game on a Sunday in England, lets hope you were somewhere else.

Noticed a new crop the other day, Borrage !. Not normally grown north of the Humber but maybe 100 acres have been sown locally to me. Interesting it is described as Pigeon & Rabbit resistant . Has anyone had any experience with this crop.

After having a few days holiday in North Norfolk i can tell you they are all there !!!!.

Very little happening all winter around York, lots of birds but way too much to eat, first, too many acorns now too much rape !.

Any chance of having a translation in English please

Set up this morning after watching birds on the rape for the last couple of days, 2.30 hours later NOT A SINGLE SHOT, would not decoy one flock were feeding on the rape at the other end of the field though !. Since the cold snap and the snow they seem to have ******** off. No one in my area appears to be roost shooting either. So will there be a bumper breeding season as so few are being shot ? or are the birds in incline ?. Answers on a postcard please

Well chaps, there is nothing happening around my way, no gas guns out, no shooters around and very few pigeons. But lots of happy farmers as the rape isnt being touched !
