  1. Not many up rivington way, few crows to knock off though before lambing
  2. Thanks for the replys. Its a bit disheartening when you cant even pay for somewhere to shoot. Never mind, I'll keep looking. Cheers
  3. Hi, does anyone know if there is a rough shoot syndicate operating in the NW. Ideally with Firearms approved land. Thanks
  4. Hi, Ive recently bought an airwolf .177. Finally got it set up with a shaved down Dr Bob bipod adapter, Hawke SR6 scope and a few other bits and pieces. Pelets on the other hand are a bit of a problem. At first I bought Daystate select, rubbish in my opinion with this gun. Then I tried good old bisley magnums, lots better but still a few random flyers. Now I'm using Air arms field and these are far superior through my daystate barrel. Anyone else tried any other pellets through this gun with good results? Cheers
  5. rabbit, pigeon, pheasant. I want to get into reloading eventually and making your own 3 1/2"s if quite cheap. Plus the fact that if I break another tooth on No. 6 shot I might throw my guns away. No, for me lots of big lead, at greater distances, passing clean through my dinner, seems to be the way forward
  6. Hello. After buying my 3 1/2" capable gun I have only ever used 3 1/2" steel cartridges on a couple of occasions. Recently after buying a shoulder pad (after the mrs getting suspicious about the number of cartridges i use at the clay shoot every week, by the bruises) I have noticed a significant reduction in recoil. Given this new lease of life my poor shoulder has received I have decided to try hammering my soon to be evening meals with some extra shot, in a larger size. Anyone recommend any 3 1/2" cartridges, with a heavy load in lead? Thanks
  7. got a 425 myself. a great gun, perfect fit, nice balance, good grip. my only fault with it was the butt pad had very sharp edges on the rubber that would pinch the skin on certain shots, i shaved it down with a dremel and its alot better now.
  8. hi mate, i'm in tunbridge wells alot at the moment. Can bring my shotgun down if youre stuck
  9. Hi, I'm new to the area and looking for a bit of shooting if anyone knows of any, SGC and basc insurance. Lots of experience. Cheers
  10. I'm probably too late for this opportunity but if its still up for grabs let me know, I'm only in chorley. Thanks
  11. I'd never part with my 425 wildfowl, it fits perfectly, is totally reliable and i can shoot it all day long blasting clays or pigeons. A really nice solid gun. One slight alteration I made was to round off the edges of the butt pad on the right hand side to fit my shoulder better
  12. Thanks for the advise, I'll look into the land thing. I know it is owned (like everything else) by united utilities and the farmer has the right to control pests on his lease, I was stopped by united utilities once and questioned as to whether or not i could be there and after i told them i was they mentioned that a game shoot operates in the area. Might be a good idea to try to find who runs it. Might even get some permission off them if i'm lucky! We own a pub/restaurant/b+b so its always helpful to offer gamekeepers or farmers a free meal and drinks to help persuade them or just to say thanks
  13. Hi, I currently hold a SGC and have shooting permission on a sheep farm in lancashire. The farmer also has horses stabling on his land so it means i have to use moderated shotguns to control his crows, rabbits and foxes (esp at lambing) and also moderated guns help keep public attention to a minimum as there are several footpaths on the land but all with good visability. Even still, shotguns are never really quiet, even moderated ones. I'd like to apply for an FAC for a sako quad rimfire as this can be moderated and the choice of calibres in the package will allow me to use a target specific calibre. I'd obviously go to a local rifle range as well to zero and practice, same as i do at my local clay shoot. Is this a good enough reason for a FAC? I dont want to apply if it might be rejected. Thanks
  14. Winchester Super-X Magnum Ammunition 12 Gauge 3-1/2" Buffered 00 Buckshot 18 Pellets. Anyone know if you can get these over here? http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=214645
  15. hi tom. would be good to go for a shoot somewhere different. I have permission over in lancs but been booted off at moment due to horses on the land
