  1. Sorry that should be wildfowlers that can’t use lead obviously
  2. I spoke to them at the show and found it ironic that two type of cartridges they are making, clay and game, can still be lead. Why haven’t they made a hp steel version for us wildfowlers that can’t use steel!! I was told it’s all about money and not the environment, more people clay and game shooting.
  3. I spoke with eley at the shooting show and they said they didn’t have plans to put the new wads in their hp steel. Only available in their VIP range. I think it’s about time the big companies put a bit more effort in finding a better solution for plastic wads.
  4. I have some of these, boots are really thin and certainly not very roomy definitely not for cold weather. Sweat a lot in them with water running off the inside.
  5. As said before, be careful about boundaries as where i live its covered by "isle of Ely" which isn't actually a county and is difficult to find the boundary
  6. Try having a spare dry slip in the car and use this for the journey home after you have wiped it down.
  7. You won't be disappointed I found it a really enjoyable read.
  8. Thanks for the replies and the offer Walker570 (Wrong size) but I am thinking on the Sieirra CC3 but struggling to find a dealer in the Cambridgeshire area as I would really like to try them on. Does anybody know of any dealers in East Anglia that stock them?
  9. I am thinking on investing in some boot foot breathable chest waders and wanted to know if anyone has any experience of these and which make they would recommend. Thanks for any help.
  10. Hi Browning525 I am in 2 wildfowling clubs and a pigeon club that all include BASC membership. I get refunds for my extra wildfowling membership and will hopefully get one back for the pigeon club when the wildfowling renews. My point was that they send out a big pack saying that they have written to the club as your membership is due to expire including details of all the benefits membership brings and insurance details. I have received two of these for my wildfowling clubs and thought that this was very wasteful but as you can see from above, I have now been informed that this is a legal requirement. As it is I am not renewing with one of the clubs as I have joined another so when I get the memberships through I expect that all the insurance documentation will come through again then.
  11. Thanks David for the reply, I guess if your are governed by law then that's fair enough.
  12. Is it just me or is anybody else surprised at how much money BASC must be wasting by sending out the big renewal packs to people with syndicate or club memberships. Many of us have multiple memberships of BASC so will have received multiple packs which to be honest are irrelevant as if we are re-joining the club or syndicate then BASC will be part of this process. There was not one piece of useful information in these packs that I wouldn't expect to receive with my membership when it comes through.
  13. All the clubs I know don't allow lead cartridges to even be taken on the wash so check your club rules as I am sure it will non-toxic only. If you are in Scotland then, in your case, it must be non-toxic for all game as you will be shooting where your shot may land in water. In England, technically, you only need non-toxic for wildfowl.
  14. I think I saw some at fenland rural sports at Warboys along with a few tungsten matrix.
  15. I am off to Montrose next week so hopefully there will still be some about.
  16. I much prefer Realtree AP as I find max4 and duck blind definitely stand out in the dark. Watch people walking on in any of those and you will see that any moon light catches the light patches. BUT its not about how good the camouflage is but how still you can keep.
  17. I am sorry but everyone is talking about right handed guns. Only bennelli and Hatsan make left handed 3.5" autos, if you shoot with both eyes open then the flash alone from a right hand auto will ****** your night vision and getting smoke/**** in your eye when out on a windy evening is no fun at all. If you do go for a righthander then definitely try before you buy, I did and couldn't get on with it so due to budget restraints went for the Hatsan Escort and must say it works for me.
  18. Have the same problem with the mallard decoys also they make so much noise with water hitting them that I can't hear birds
  19. Not that cheap when you add postage, managed to get the same from a local gun shop for £10 not very robust but will do the job
  20. Just got back from Montrose and they were selling 3" Mammoths for £9 for 10, nearly 3 time the price of the ones i took up. I really rate these as they work in the auto no problem unlike eleys lightening steel.
