He was going to build it as an original at first, had a Cosworth engine ready to go in, but descided the Honda engine was more robust. Having said that, he blew a Honda engine on Friday during set up :blink: Luckily he had a spare so a quick engine out and replace on Saturday was needed and back on the road.

It's not a race as such, lots of classic Fords driving around the Lakes. Give it time and I'm sure he will be into the proper stuff.

My mate called round to see me today in his rally prepared Mk2 Escort. Anyone who has ever followed rallying will recognise the Mk2 as the car to have, before all the four wheel drive Subaru's, Evo's and the like came on the scene. It has taken him 8 years and somewhere between £30k and £40k to complete and has been a bit of a standing joke that it would never be finished The engine is a 250 bhp Honda vtec, which doesn't kick the variable valve timing in till 6000 rev's, driving a 6 speed, quick shift gear box. All driving the rear wheels He took me out for a spin around some of the back lanes today, clean underwear needed on return! Off to a classic Ford Rally in the Lake District in a fortnight so hope things go well

All sorted now thanks guys Richie223 was spot on with his diagnosis, connection block to the relays was not corroded but full of water so a blast of GT85 oil and a good clean and she is running like a good one again. Thanks also to everyone else who offered advice

Thanks for your replies lads. I tried running with the aircon on today as it hasn't been run since summer but it made no difference. I will try it again after applying WD40 and also check the relays.

I run a 54 plate Warrior. After startup yesterday I found that it wouldn't tick over properly, the revs dropped off on idle and eventually stalled. Also, since this problem occurred, the air con light on the switch is flickering but not fully illuminated. Someone has suggested that it may be the air-con pump starting to stick and is pulling the engine down. Any advice from the more mechanically educated on here would be much appreciated Cheers Scraggy

Do you have any contact details for the above? It's local to me and I'm in the market for a new gun but not heard of them.

I'm going through the forms to apply for my FAC. On the reference form there are 2 questions for the referee's to complete- What do you know of the applicants experience with firearms? And- What do you know of the applicants attitude towards firearms? What would be acceptable replies to these questions? Both my referee's know me well and know that I am a keen shotgun and air rifle shooter but neither shoot themselves although one is ex military. Any advice much appreciated.

Check your SG certificate or BASC codes of shooting practice Ollie! Quote- It is an offence to shoot wildfowl or game with a self-loading gun having a magazine capacity of more than two cartridges.

Not wanting to rain on your parade mate, but whats the rules as to using an auto for shooting game?
