hey all, the past few days i have been off work and have been watching a standing barley field a few hundred yds from my house, i walked over to it today about 2pm and about 200 pigeons flew out from field.I went back home do get my equipement to return to find the combine in the field ready to cut, i have never been pigeon shooting before, its pretty new to me and i have read as much information as i can and always willing to learn more, tomorrow i think i should try this field, what do u all think, im just wondering should i leave it a day after its cut just to see where the pigeons are feeding on the field or should i give it a go in the morning where i seen them feeding today, any advice welcome, thank u....

im 25 but do remeber alot of those things..

i have seen kestrel o/u and s/s , i would say value for money gun..

i found with getting my older dog to jump at distance it was very useful to take someone else training with me and let them stand at the other side of the fence/obstacle and throw the dummy, starting say from 10 yds and gradually build it up every time hes successful, your second question is a little tricky , unless maybe u go back and train the left and right command with the words left when u want left and right when u want right, thats really the only thing i can think of there mate..

the way mad springer has told u how to train the back command is spot on, imo the dog is being pushed on too young and for the time being i would retrieve the pigeons your self till u build up more confidece and take the dogs training further...

rough shooting with heavy cover and ditch work then a ess, picking up, decoying and fowling definately a lab, i have 2 ess and 1 lab, all dogs ..

guys im after spaniel training videos/dvds, can anyone help ?? 2nd hand , far too expensive new..
