  5. This is an old post that has been edited for the purpose of picture posting only. The scope now fitted to the gun is a bushnell buckhorn 3-9x40 with what looks like a duplex reticle.
  6. ok looking at this: http://www.falconoptics.com/ If you view the quarry at the sharpest "focus" - then check the distace graduations of the adjustment wheel, could that be a ROUGH guide of its distance from you? EDIT: I'm considering it for a rimmy - so only really interested in the "focus" settings below 100 yds - which is where the greatest amount of adjustment is
  7. quick question for someone ; if I get a scope with side parrallax adjustment that has numbered distance markings viewable from the rear of the scope whilst in the aim position: Am i being too naive thinking it could be as simple as "if the quarry is in focus" at the relative marked distance - then thats roughly how far it ACTUALLY is? EDIT:and adjust my hold over/under accordingly?
  8. ".34D" I dissagree - 34DD is much more shapely
  9. Thanks Axe - still undecided at this time - and considering one with a range finder, though the feo suggested today that they're not overly accurate? He uses a hand held laser type
  10. What do ya think of this guys? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 hoping for my fac rimfire VERY soon and currently have a simmons 9-24x50AO (what does AO mean?) on my 12lb s410 - which is probably much more than needed - so maybe I just ought to get a cheap un for my s410 and swap em over?

    Bad

Me and my grandson took a stroll around the new permission yesterday (daylight) - without a gun, as it's still pending hubbie's approval plenty signs of hedgerow disturbance from small animals passing through - but nothing sighted Passed by well after dark - and shone my maglite around....nowt but a solitary bunny to be seen It's also quite remote - and SO quiet, I'll need better skills compared to the main, very noisy A road my regular shoot is adjacent too

:< Them thar wabbits is gettin too clever three hours on the hoof - couldn't get near em gave up and set up a baited hidy hole and got 2 crows Went to see the lady next door to the permission to ask who owns the the next field along....and by the way "you have some fields nearby too?"....yep...90 acres grazing land and yep again to "can I shoot there" this is depending on hubbies agreement (currently in hospital)
  14. Touch wood - no mixxy on my permission
  15. Anyone know how to make this GIF Image an avatar? *&6%8* I wish this forum would either consistently allow or dissallow file uploads
  16. A friend of mine has considered applying for a FAC, but thinks it will be denied because he has mild diabetes Does diabetes bar a person as suitable for a FAC?
  17. FM "Do you not go to bed" Aha - I'm an all night taxi driver, and a creature of habit Albeit it a bad habit of keeping to my nocturnal sleeping hours So lamping slots in there just nice on my nights off - and I can do it with impunity in the knowledge that I'm not disturbing others in my household :*) And of course the wabbits are awake too
  18. fisherman Mike, "35 yards a 2ft circle with a cross in the middle." I have never used or discussed shotgunning with anyone - is that a typical quarry shooting distance?
