  1. Nice guns -with photo editing too Did you do that with paint? - The reason I ask is that most PC's run MS - and paint is included in accessories Open your photo with it and select the "image" tab, then stretch/skew, then change the % of the original size you'd like the new size to be in the first (HxW) boxes. In the pic's you have I'd estimate 90% would suffice
  2. Deadeye The photo wasnt optimised to read the scope markings - it's a 6-24 x50 AO - but I've asked several people and posted close ups of it on here ~ several guess's and probably one of them is correct. It's just a curiosity thing
  3. yea but no but yea but no but - the topic aint humurous
  4. jonno - "If that remmington ammo you have there is consistant i'll be surprised but don't despair if it is'nt." Hmm - I put 100 rounds through it, windage came in nicely, but I cant get the elevation anything like consistant - 4~6" @ 80yds. Rain stopped play I'd made a multi point target out of a pallet, and put another larger one resting at an angle behind it, with the target one leaning towards me so that any ricochet would be more likely to go to ground The target pallet had 13mm planks (moved together to close the gaps), The supporting pallet had 15mm planks = most of the bullets went through both, good job I also had a backstop. None of them failed to cycle - although the magazine took a lot of getting out most times - very fiddely. The bolt handle seems larger than my brothers - which might explain why it seems to recoil more than his? He uses eley rounds by the way
  5. Oops sorry CB...er which forum should I have put this one in mate? :*)
  6. Deadeye - I'd lurve to know exactly which simmons it is, alas it was supplied on a preloved gun and there is no model name or type on it :*) Thanks for the offer of help if I get stuck I'm off to zero it in shortly
  7. use the pm tab under this text box mate
  8. Point taken about the choice of ammo. Eley are the recommended brand - but my local gunshop don't stock them (kibworth gun club) I spose it's against the rules to get them mailed from somewhere else? stuartp - I just re-read your post ( :*) it's a dyslexia thing :*) ) Yes mate there is apparently a small bore lining - reinforced with carbon bracing. I read somewhere that the liner is frozen to shrink it prior to fitting.
  9. stuart My brother has one - and I have to say it spoilt me so much that airgunning left me feeling a bit underwhelmed untill I adjusted to it. now I intend to get an FAC air as well - possibly swapping my s410 for one Being a bit of a nightowl I frequently have a dusk till late - or early hours till past dawn trek. This weight reduction will help my old bones no end But more importantly, with the experience gained from 12lb airgunning, I find I can easily get get to within 60 yards or of them wabbits - it was the last 20 feet that often eluded me - so I will have an almost flat trajectory to allow for minor missjudgements of distance up to about 75 yards or so, and know that a hold over will reach further if they become suspicious
  10. My FEO told me he will only accept written permission for any land I shoot on till I get my open certificate - which will be 3 years
  11. Here she is at long last I found lugging my s410 around for 5 or 6 hours seriously knackering - So I got what must be about the lightest 10/22 there is It's 90cm long and allegedly weighs about three and a quater pounds (I dont have scales to confirm that) The weather report looks like I'll get to zero it in tommorow
  12. I want to show immense gratitude to the first farmer who let me shoot on his land - from a cold call As a result of dropping his name to his neighbours I have secured others, adjoining and further afield I also want to give them something too - But the first one gets the best drink that money can get. He is also convalescing after being attacked by a charolaise bull he bought for breeding (it broke his hips - then got shot!) so I'm thinking of adding a hamper for him and his family so that my use of his land has brought some measure of sustenance sort of.
  13. The quality of those images will get them caught - and some bleedin heart will get them a free holiday :< Nice looking place that too
  14. up to the top 'cos someone's bound to take it at that price £115new + filter cost Edit for a piccie host thanks
  15. stuartp "'Left Field' is an American expression for someone who is bit odd - no offence intended at all, it just that you last few posts seemed to make sense you, but no one else" Well spotted, you've hit the nail right on the head mate - and in a pleasant manner too I am slightly dyslexic - mostly leaving bits out altogher, rather than the more usual putting them in the wrong place I usually know what I mean - but I cant always relate it to others :*) Anyway - I have some good news for everyone Another competion coming soon - same prize 'cos I got loads of this filter stuff - and it works a treat. If you have a variable brightness facility on your gun lamp you can just use the one layer and not use full brightness untill the shot is ready. At least 2 layers are needed for fixed brightness lamps to minimise the rabbits bolting before you get lined up comfortably
  16. BIGJON wins Send me yer addy BIGJON for some filter material mate My thinking is to remove the cabinet and put the pipes over the studs then sink them further into the wall - which also makes them more secure I reckon, the wall being about 10" thick including plaster on both sides I thought it best to use ten of them because my partition walls are breeze block rather than the preferred concrete. The FEO and I felt the location of the gun had to be somewhere I wouldn’t disturb the rest of the household when I go or return from shooting (usually in the small hours) as this could lead to occasionally leaving it out till later / for later - which left only 1 suitable location. Carpet tiles sound a good way to finish the job too
  17. still no winner Where am i going to put these pipes? Wrong answer from the big red fox
  18. Where can I get more protein? I noticed almost immediatly that there are 3 sets of the same formation of nuts in that picture - but the guy eluded me for over a minute :*)
  19. I could'nt get to sleep trying to figure out an anagram of left field :*) Nice one stuartp Yip, I'd say it's unusual - and the idea was tongue in cheek to see how varied the suggestions were, and it would / has? become clearer as the clue's were posted These rawlbolts were the only suitable size that B&Q had at the time, and each of the three fitted gun cabinets I have looked into to date all had loads of stud inside them.
  20. Digger - your in the right area The Big Red Fox - Dint daddy tell his wee boy if you canna say something nice, Dina say anything at all? Here's something to help you sleep http://www.compfused.com/directlink/236/ "Left field poster" - Explain please...It's late - and too subtle if its derogatory Anyone got any idea how I can stop scratching my guns on these? - There's 10 of them, 'cos I've got one of them cardboard houses according to my FEO
