  1. If you shope wisely, you can get a return ticket to Calgary for £350-400 at that time of year.
  2. We put up 6 as well last week, all looked in good condition.
  3. ah, the only weekend I can't do as I'm away on a shoot. Well, next time!
  4. Chris is away this week and I havn't had a chance to get the video off of him. As soon as I have a copy I will upload it.
  5. Yeah thrilled to bits. Definately the best way to learn, and I definately have the stalking bug now!
  6. now I just need to find some more local land! back to the door knocking!
  7. well, say what you like, but there was no rattling of feed buckets or anything of the sort. I still stand by what I said about this being a great way to learn.
  8. Well for anyone thats considering this I would highly recommend it. I just got back from my day there, and it was exactly what I wanted. I previously had no deer shooting experience, and today I learnt a lot, I dont think it would be possible to learn anymore in a single day. I cant think of a better way to start out and build confidence in deer techniques. And no, they dont just walk out when asked nicely
  9. Used to live in braintree, but now im in Southampton I can't find a permission! I might know of someone, I will ask him.
  10. My missus is another one of these clay shooting veggies! Although she is new to the sport, shes beginning to get the hang of it. Although I do need to buy some lighter load cartridges!
  11. Wow, thats quite a list of rifles and guns!
  12. Hi all, Made a few posts already, but forgot to put a hello post, so here it is. Im in Southampton (previously Essex), and do any shooting I can try! Already found loads of infor on the forum, seems to be a fountain of knowledge!
  13. haha, been paid so I'm treating myself for this season!
  14. I do a couple of paid days wildfowling each year, but pay by day, not annual membership. I don't have my own dogs etc, so joining a club isn't really practical. I'm after rough shooting really, pest control etc. Also, if anyone knows of any good clubs in the Southampton area for a bit of target shooting that would be good, as I have shot on plenty of ranges, but never as a club member. Would ideally like to start some fullbore shooting as well as rimfire. Thanks
  15. yeah, I'll be heading out for some more door knocking this weekend!
  16. I'm still looking for rabbit/pigeon/fox shooting in Hampshire (I'm BASC insured), looking for all opportunities. Since relocating to Southampton I've had no luck getting permissions from visiting farmers etc, so any help would be much appreciated. Even if someone just needs help to do the lamp for them that would be great, anything to be outdoors/around shooting. Thanks in advance.
  17. For many people, chances to shoot are few and far between. Some of us put a lot of effort into finding permissions, and yet still have none. It's easy to slate a shooting opportunity, but as long as it's clear what it is and what you are paying for then I can't see the problem. It's not disguised in anyway. I personally feel like recently I've knocked on more doors than had hot dinners, without getting any permissions, so sometimes opportunities come up, even if it's not the perfect stalk in the bush, but a chance to use a rifle and introduce myself to taking deer. Maybe some of the people boasting about how wild their shoots are should think about the people who struggle to get land to shoot on. We can't all have the perfect land. I think the lack of available land for shooters is what really dictates the price, if it was so easy to shoot cheaply then people would not pay 140. Anyway, not intending to offend or anything, but I just thought I'd throw my 2p in, as someone who cannot get land for love nor money.
