  1. What are you going to use the sp1 for, assume the semi is for game??
  2. I have just been a Similar thing looking for a semi, iv never shot a hatson or seen one so I can't say either way on it but the only reason I didn't get one, was when I researched them there was so much bad feed back on them, and on the main stream beretta, browning, Winchester even lanber I couldn't find one bad feed back, all good. I looked at a Winchester 1100 but was in rough condition and the lop was only 14" found a couple of beretta 302 once again quite bad condition. Found a really nice beretta 303 but it was £595 plus it had been sold. In the end I found a lanber for £195, when I went to look at it I thought something must be wrong at that price but I don't think they new what they had as it was mint. So the moral of my story is don't rush there are plenty out there. Hold out for the one you want.
  3. Hi mate, yeah that price sounds really good, what I've always done is look on gun trader as you can compare prices all over the uk. I did the same when I bought my sp1 new found it for 1350 went to my local gun shop and he said he can do it for 1450 with £200 credit in shop. Which bought cartridges gun slip etc. look on there see what the cheapest you can get them for if it works out cheaper go back to them for a better deal. They always do.
  4. Didn't want to buy new, I would be too worried about knocking it.
  5. Out of the ones you listed you can't go wrong with a lanber, my friends have had them for yrs and love them, and I have a lanber semi which is great to, there are a lot of guns out there to look at. Just don't rush into it take your time to find what fits right to you. I have a 28 inch barrel for rough, just that little shorter for hide. And a 30 inch sporting for clays.
  6. I have a 686 silver pig 1 sporting from new maybe dropped £100 If you look after them they hold there value well
  7. I wouldn't fancy it but going duck shooting for the first time in 3 weeks so I have to.
  8. I have a silver pigeon 1 sporting 30inch barrels that I use for clays, which is absolutely great. Then I have a 28inch miroku game I use for pigeon. Both do there jobs great, the silver pigeon I bought new but have used it in the hide a couple of times, which still worked really well and still hit the same amount, but because of the price I didn't want to ruin it in a muddy field. I've used the Miroku once for clays and didn't do as we'll. so if you was to just buy one gun I'd go for the sporting 30" which will be good for what ever you wanted to do. Good luck in your quest
  9. Hi, I'm off duck shooting for the 1st time mid December, I have a new silver pigeon which I know can shoot steel shot, but I'm not sure on my other guns. Is it the actual barrel that determines this or the chokes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  10. There seems like there's so much of this going on at the moment there utter scum
  11. Go for it mate, the only thing is sometimes you get to much info lol. Good luck with it. Think I was lucky to find mine so cheap. There was just a lack of good s/h ones in my area.
  12. Hi everyone, thanks for all you advice, this morning I bought a s/h lanber 12g semi yr 2003 for £195. Shot about 30 cartridges threw it there 21g 26g 28g 30g. And it cycled them all without a hiccup really nice gun great condition, thought I was quite lucky to get it that cheap. Il be taking it out in 2 weeks for a day on the pigeons (pigeons pending) il whack a few cartridges threw it.
  13. I'm going to see the lanber Tuesday morn
  14. Surrey police, applied Tuesday called me Thursday interview the following mon cert came Thursday so 9 days in total happy days, a friend of mines took 3 months
  15. I'm going to look at a lamber on mon its only £195 I think this for the moment will do for me. When it comes to hatsan I think there are too many no's and yes'es for my liking, if I get on with the semi auto I will save for the gun I want a beretta 400 @ £1300 that's the one I want. That next yr I can lose from the missis
  16. I agree this gun is purely for me to sit in a field with I have my silver pigeon for clays, I've actually found a lanber for £195 for the money think that would be just what I need. A cheap gun where I'm not going to worry about getting it that dirty
  17. The Remington had seen better days about 10 yrs ago, found a nice one but it had been sold, think il have to be patient with this and jus hold out, still thinking on the Hatsan tho
  18. Spoke to my local gun dealer where I got my silver pigeon, he laughed at me when I said does he have hatsan autos, he said he use to stock them and pritty much every one came back, but he has got a 2nd hand Remington 1000 for £300 I'm going to have a look this afternoon.
  19. There must be something in the water, my missis has done the same, we went for a black lab dog which comes home on the 30th. Was looking at a springer but my mates springer put me off
  20. Thanks that makes a lot of sense, all I was thinking of doing was sit to start with and I understand his only a pup and it's ment to be fun
  21. Ok thanks that makes sense, new to semi autos.
  22. Another question, are all auto a 3 cartridge magazine as that 302 is only a 2 cartridge.
  23. Saying that I've just found a really nice a302 for £495 umm think il go for that
