  4. Get yourself over to Fair Clay Targets at Beeston, Alan (HitClays on PW) runs a very friendly shoot, lots of banter with good targets. He is running a Summer Flush this Sunday for PW (see thread on Events & Meets), would have thought that would be the ideal place for you to meet up with other PW members who clay shoot - kill 2 birds with one shell as they say.......you need to PM him directly if you are going to shoot as, unlike his normal shoots, you can't just turn up at this one as everyone is put into teams.......

  9. And there was me thinking that no-one had noticed my absence! unfortunately the date change meant the PW flush clashed with the Belvoir Hunt shoot so instead of watching you lot having fun and blasting away, I got to shoot a couple of rounds of sporting instead......
  10. Got a free family ticket not sure which day to go yet......will see what the weather gods are planning........
  11. Might be worth joining the Mid Norfolk Gundog club (or you're not already a member that is), lots of their members are pickers up on shoots in the East Anglian region and word of mouth is more likely to open doors........but a good introduction to your post, hope it bears fruit.....CL.
  12. SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!! XMAS SHOOT IS DEC 15TH, NOT 18TH (I really should look at the screen when I type............ )
  13. Don't know if some of you Yellowbellies fancy crossing the county border and travelling a bit further afield to Norfolk to the Christmas Shoot on Sunday 18th Dec run by Alan Evans of Fair Clay Targets (aka HitClays) at Watery Lane, Beeston - just off A47 between Swaffham and Dereham?? 100 bird sporting for £22 with special prizes and a big raffle and food in the pub afterwards......well worth venturing the extra few miles........he's just run the Autumn Norfolk Flush (loads of posts in the Events & Meets section of PW.......)
  14. I found out at the previous flushes that asking people to pick their empty cases up unfortunately doesn't seem to work with everyone - hence the more 'brutal' approach yesterday to 'tell' instead of 'ask'......and the suggestion (or was it a threat?? ) that a penalty would be invoked on any team not picking their cases up seemed to work!! The amount of work Alan puts in setting up this type of shoot for 120+ people is enormous and running one in the winter months when daylight is restricted puts extra pressure on to get everyone through and finished, and it all has to be taken down before it gets dark - plus the quicker it gets done, the quicker Alan gets to the pub and announces the scores for everyone.......Al puts tubs at every stand for chucking empty shells in so there's no excuse for anyone to leave cases on the floor - and autos chuck them out all over the place so it's a real pain in the **** clearing them up afterwards. Sorry if it came across as a bit stroppy but picking up other people's litter isn't one of my hobbies.......... These flushes are really good fun and cracking value for money, which is why there were so many people there yesterday ......maybe a few will make the journey back on Dec 15th for Al's Xmas shoot....? SWICTSMBO. PS Bazzashadow shot like a God!!
  15. Sorry boys, it's curry on Monday, not chilli.........

  18. BASC are running a 'warm up for the game season' clay shoot at Sentry Game Farm clay ground at Chatteris on Oct 6th, look on the BASC website for more info......... If you fancy travelling a bit further afield into Norfolk, there is Chalk Farm between Kings Lynn and Swaffham on the A47 who are in the process of installing a floodlit skeet range and Fair Clay Targets who does 100 bird sporting comps for £22. Both have websites with their shoot dates on. FCT is also running another Pigeon Watch Flush event coming up which has a thread on the Events and Meets - cracking good fun and a good place to meet other shooters.
  19. Shoot near Dereham requires beaters for this season. Mainly weekdays with a couple of Saturdays. 12 dates confirmed. Well behaved dogs will be considered. Names, addresses and NI numbers will be required in order to meet new HMRC rules as the shoot is paying the tax for all beaters this year. Hot drinks and food are provided at lunchtime. Opportunity for regular beaters to shoot pigeons for crop protection. Please send PM for more details.
  20. Alan Evans of Fair Clay Targets (HitClays on PW) is running the clay line again this year. Good prizes and challenging targets. His website (www.fairclaytargets.co.uk) has a link to the show....
