I had a Miroku mk 60 and it had MK60 in the engraving on the underside so if the other models follow suite it should be easy enough to identify them
-
excellent result tom,you did not lose too many in the swath either which is also a result as it can be a pain in the backside to find them at times.

I can understand your anger under the circumstances ,i can also understand others taking the P,I think that comes from you mud slinging at all the people you have been good enough to take out before, I would guess that all are probably innocent and it would be much more likely that your land has been visited by poachers, how do you inspect every inch of your permission to be able to say the cases were not there a few days before ?.
-
Thanks for all the tips ,its not too bad and I am sure it will be ok for a long while yet but I like things to shine clean I must admit i have just tried to wipe most of it out with a oily rag but sounds like that may make it worse !

Have a google for heat holders excellent but you will need plenty of room in the waders as they are quite thick, also seal skinz are very good if a little pricey have a look at http://www.sealskinz.com/?gclid=CMnCn4zQgaoCFQEf4QodRj53xg

I've been getting 30p for fresh birds all year.

Hi All
Need a little help/advice on getting some equipment. Just wondering if any of you have paid big bucks on top names and its been ****. I'll be ordering a Browning in the next few days. Do you really need 'named' gear? (apart from a good shotgun).
1. Cleaning/lubricating oils, tools, mats.
2. Skeet/clay vest.
3. Gunslip (26 inch barrels).
4. Cartridge bag, or would a rucksack be ok.
Recommend any website/shop (in London/Herts area). Anything else I may of forgotten.
Many thanks
Terry
Trouble with cartridge bags is they dont hold enough for a decent pigeon day,I brought a small hard bottom bag from aldi for 8 quid its brilliant holds 300+ cartridges has pockets for my multi tool a knife etc a top zipped pocket that my choke tube fits in and a well padded shoulder strap been going strong for over 5 years now !

Can anyone tell me which is the best product for getting rid of the hard carbon deposits in the piston assembly ? I dont feel its as clean as it could be and I know it can lead to jamming problems if it builds up too much.
-
I have tried similar and it is always the stitching that gives way on the shoulder straps . I now use a 100 ltr fishing rucksack that has last me 5 years now ( I used it for 10 years fishing before ) I also use a fishing quiver holdall for my poles, floaters canes and gun in slip it too is over 5 years old and no signs of giving up.
By the way you have not really got a shed and sink in yours have you ? if so your taking too much gear

Fot that money if you want new you would find it hard to beat a bettinsoli or around that price a new Lanber would be what I would go for in fact there was a very nice Lanber in the sales section on here with extras.
Second had you could look at the beretta silver pigeons or miroku mk70 / mk60 / mk38

Might sound a silly question but why can't you run your dog on rape ?
I too will not let my dog work on rape stubble ,when cut the stalks can be like arrows and can cut a dog up badly,in fact I they are so sharp I have actually shot a few birds over the years that when they have hit the ground the stalks have gone right through them, swarthed rape is even worse than stubble as the dog may be tempted to jump over it landing on stalks with force.

Try www.uttings.co.uk they have had several awards for customer service and a quick peek tells me they have 66 slings to choose from

77 today on rape ,and one yesterday with the airgun = 10932

With just two small permissions with only 1 rape field and pea field between them a decent bag has been hard to come by this year.
But I knew the rape had been sprayed off as I was sat in the field last week when the farmer came to do it !,there was a few floating about last week so I thought I would take another look ,so I went for a look yesterday afternoon and there were quite a few dropping in the tramlines and bare patches not hundreds but enough for a go today.
I set up in the field as there is no cover and was shooting over a large bare patch which failed to grow I also flagged off a couple of smaller patches.
up went the hide as best as I could ,ten dead birds out for decoys and the rotory only to fing the battery is knackered so had to make do with a flapper and a couple of floaters, the birds were very cagey but I managed 14 in the first hour with just 15 shots,I did not manage to keep that ratio ! the shooting was not easy with the birds coming from behind and very few decoying well but I kept ticking over with some very testing shooting ,I only managed 1 left / right as it was difficult to get a second shot and not drop the bird in the standing crop so I had to pass up a good few chances, but I was well chuffed to end with 81 down and 77 picked up for 119 shots I think that is my best bag for at least two years.

Why is it that when something like that happens it seems to replay in your head in slow motion but undoubtedly was a more blink of an eye action,
Why is it when that happens no one is there with a camera

seems most are not in favour of the winchester ,but the winchester 23 was / is a cult gun which is alledged to have superb handling and unlike almost all others has a raised rib much the same as a over and under which is suppose to give a better sight picture, all the ones you have picked are decent guns, though the miroku for my liking would be choked a little tight,if you want something for general shooting 1/4 and 1/2 chokes would be ample
to be honest you are just going to get a shed load of different answers asking these sorts of questions on a forum,so you will perhaps end up even more confused ,my advice is choose which ever you prefer personally .

10 for me yesterday in half hour before they came to spray the rape off  10702

I think you will find that on most if not all forums typing with the caps lock on is regarded as shouting and to be quite frank rude perhaps you are unaware of this unwritten rule, but you are now !! so feel free to ask for friendly advice without shouting.
Also like all forums I am affraid there are always a few ***** who make stupid and unhelpful comments ,though in the main they are great guys / girls on here with lots of good advice to offer, the key is to ignore the ones who try to increase there post count by sprouting rubbish.

Decoying for me,and I also really enjoy a few hours near a sitty tree with the air rifle.

Nice shooting, numbers are not every thing sounds like you had sometesting shots so a great bag under those circumstances

If you are going to spend around the £1k mark i would have a look at the AYA no2, based on a holland and holland readily available and look pretty smart. for that sort of money any proper english will be a bit rough or a very basic speck gun.
I would second this I think a AYA would be a good investment as they will hold value better than the fabarm, also the AYA 25 is a very nice gun which you could just get in your budget have another look on gun trader as there is one on there and if you are looking for nice engraving it is ideal having said that your better to have something plain that fits as graving alone will not kill anything !!!

The HW 95 is a graet gun full power and reasonable weight the silencer it comes with is also one of the best on the market ,all spring guns take a while to bed in , but you dont need 12ft LBs for clean kills you need accuracy and the 95 as with all the HW range has plenty of that.
The 80 is also a great gun but is much heavier and really only comes into its own when at FAC levels.
I now use a 97kt which is very heavy but also very very accurate .

If you wanted to look at them somewhere more local (Essex) Eastern Sporting in Gt Baddow carry Stoegers.
They do look & feel quite nice, think theyre imported and distributed by BSA but not 100% sure.
That would make sense they look a lot along the lines of the lightnings, personally speaking if you want a spring gun I would go for a second hand HW 95k or 77/97 should be able to pick a nice 95k and scope up for around 250 or less.

My 97kt love rws superdomes and they are cheap compared to many top pellets ,in fact superdomes have been my choice in any HW rifle I have owned.
