Hi Darren to be perfectly honest mate nothing. Im trading the Lanber in this Saturday for a new 686 silver pigeon. The guy at the gun shop has offered me £400 for it in the part exchange for the 686. So if you fancy a bargain let me know it realy has done nothing and is as new boxed with all the paper work.

I fancy treating myself for christmas so i thought why not a Berreta I have looked at a few second hand one`s of various models but im undisided?? I quite fancy the silver Pigeon .s. model. Any lads, lasses or southern poof`s had any experience of owning the 686, 28 inch multi choke model? Just wondering what they are like as im a complete novice regarding guns

Here`s another picture of the gun boxed with all the paper work and chokes.

Hi Rabbit hunter nice picture`s of how ferrets should be kept. Nice clean dry cage`s fresh wood shavings its a credit to you. Nice to see a young un showing such respect to his stock. here`s a picture of one of mine in action last season.

Charlie Plummer was a ********er and a proven liar. He was a writer not a Hunter and all he wrote about was other people`s experiences. Now for the Novice his books may seem entertaining and informative but to the guys who walk the walk, lol they contain nothing but Sh*te. Flocky your best bet is to look for the working terrier and Lurcher site run by our Moocher. There`s plenty of guys there who walk the walk and can advise you on the problems you may get with all working dogs.

We had trouble getting pins into the ground yesterday tearcil. I nearly broke a few myself trying to get them into the ground. The usual tension of the net was pulling the pins side ways and almost colapsing the net. My old mate he had a 50 yard ready sett with aluminium pins they went in a treat. A super way how to stop rabbits if there`s to many hole`s to net day time. But like you said the grounds rock hard i dug quite a few times yesterday through compact rock and stone and the dirt in between was just like powder. I has trouble seeing into the holes once i had broken through.

Hi Teircel decent picture`s for the novice peggers to take note of. But the net looks real tight to me almost like a tennis net?? Maybe its the way the picture looks but i would like to add that there should be plenty of bagging in the net between pins. Only i tried a 15 yard ready set net almost identical to the one in the picture and i pinched so much net, well to be truthfull it should have been 10 yards. The Rabbits just hit the net and bounced straight out. The dog loved it anway

Just a guess could the top one be Deerhound x Greyhound x Collie Greyhound?? The Bottom one Saluki Greyhound X Collie Greyhound??

Same as me tiercel i realy enjoy my day time stop netting with the dog. Mainly i just use a 25 yarder 6z. I also have a 20 yarder 6z and a 50 yarder which is a 4z im happy even if i catch one with the net. There just some thing about dropping the net?? Then i get some perverted satisfaction from lifting it too I have used the ready sett methods day and night but you cant beat the traditional way. To be truthfull i lamp the dog alot so this cancels the night netting out but if any of the dogs get`s injured i do make a journey out with just the net.

Hi tiercel The old guy that showed me how to Longnet told me if you can get what your after to tread on the net you have as good as caught it. There aint many out there that keeps the old style of hunting going. They would rather go out with lamp and rifle to bang a van full of bunny`s over. As for the dog it is a Hancock bred and dont belive the hype about these line of Lurcher`s. I know quite a few lads that have worked his stock past and present and almost all show the same bad traits. Just wondering any chance of sticking a few more picture`s up of the Longnetting you do
-
So your bro uses the drop nett method then. No need for the waterproof spray and god would you need some tins for a 100 yard net, lol. Just wondering doe`s he also use the traditional drop method and also the ready sett method??
-
Piggy pie what method doe`s your brother use then when long netting?
-
I is a Real deal Pegger
-
I think what your trying to explain is the Ready sett Method. But buy your description your going about it **** over ***, lol. But breifly going back to columus if the Rabbits are travling onto your ground from another your best bet is to place a net in between. Either a traditional or a ready set type. If the rabbits are kind of jumpey you could use a drop net system. there`s many many way`s how to remove these unwanted raider`s.
