A bloke who i do a bit of milking for has alot (14!) of magpies hanging about around his sheds and garden. Is it possiblre to trap these in a larsen at this time of year with much success? Thoughts appreciated! Harry Rab!

Grandad had a barn owl in the larsen, was fine but frigtned magpie to death. Buzzard in ladder trap, also quickly let go. Healthy adult dog fox in the larsen however, he didnt escape so lightly!! didnt do the trap much good either!

Thanks for the thoughts guys! My dad! And yes fully able bodied! Foxes to about 150-200 yards .223 as he doest want anything bigger than .243 due to being tenatnt farmers and landlord getting touchy over their deer etc... Factory ammo! Already has .223 available on licence, so not alot of choice on calibre anymore, just the rifle itself!

Looking in sportsman, they have a combo deal od steyr prohunter, with zeiss scope, and mod. any thoughts?

Exactly what it says on the tin! What would be the best bet for old man after a .223? Will be first centre-fire rifle, but obviously wat a tool worth having! Looking at about £1600 for whole setup!

Atleast...the trap is still in tact i guess...look on the bright side! Uncle is on the way over with a replacement as we speak! Dont understand why people cant just leave traps alone...i know theyre trying to be humane and all that **** but they really have no idea!

Was all going well untill today i realised that my decoy bird was so clever it had managed to undo a shackle and open the lid all by itself...and obviously it then flew away! Livid. -.-

Im looking to buy a cheap air pistol mainly for rats, magpies and crows in traps, so only short distance work. Preferably a spring one so i dont have to mess around with CO2 capsules....what should i get? Thoughts very much appreciated! harryrab

Dad had this on his anchutz HMR...was infrequent so put up with it...untill it went click on a fox...sportsman put a longer pin, and stronger spring in...beautiful know!

After a frustrating session on the crows, not dropping any but many looking like their being hit...had several shots and am usually alot better! Is it the carts (30gm, 6shot), the chokes (1/2 and 1/4) or was i just having a **** day!? Thoughts greatly appreciated!

Had a pair of chameaus for christmas! bloody proper! The lad in sportsman said to me not to even think about mustos when chameaus are not much more (ask for their best price!)

Just wandering what the best way to attack my corvids is!? There are crazy numbers about, but them being what they are...they seem quite nervy and hard to get with in 12bore range! How am i best to do this...thoughts would be verymuch appreciated!
