  1. Just thought I'd say about the British Schools Championships at Doveridge. Warwick won it (again...) not sure about the rest of them. All I know is that I was the captain of the Old Swinford Team and we came 5th - 2 places up from last year. We were all pretty pleased with it as its only the second year we have been shooting as a team competatively!! Jon Cowell shot 42/50 and missed the high gun by one clay which he got rather peeved about but ah well, lifes a bu**er
  2. just got an e-mail from Dai, webley are fine with the repair and it should be done in 7-10 days with no cost, not like I'd expected anything else!
  3. My Dad's is 16 years old now, still firing and recycling fine, no major problems so far and he's had it for 4 years now, lovely guns to shoot and they stay relatively clean
  4. the sub-sonics that oxton have made for them are black if thats any help...
  5. nice cartridges as a whole. as berrettaman, i use olympic trap, there cheaper, fire and pattern well, good shells:D
  6. Horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible dirty cartridged. A few of my mates have nicknamed them ben & jerry's cartridges beceause of the fact that they seem like they have been made in an ice cream factory? as they are so naff, DONT ASK ME! i don't know either lol buy eley olympic trap, there just as cheap but pattern better and are much much cleaner
  7. If only it was of the high standard tey laim, then I'd have my own gun fot the British inter-schools this sunday at doveridge, im the captain of the team and ive got 2 use a gun ive only shot a couple of times! eek! hoping lady lucks on my side this weekend lol!
  8. i had a box of pro-comps like that a while back, checked with the safety office and he said they were fine to shoot, just a problem with the manufacturing stage, nothing wrong with them though.
  9. christ! lol im gonna go up there tomorrow and give it them there and then, see what they can do, if that doesn't work i'll take it to te webley hq in birmingham lol
  10. FROM MY COMMENT DONT LISTEN TO ME! THE WOOD ON THE STOCK OF MY GUN WAS SO DRY AND BRITTLE THAT AFTER 300 SHOTS BITS OF WOOD WERE FALLING OFF! LITTS BOUGHT 350 FROM WEBLEY AND HAD TO SEND BACK 212 FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER!B)
  11. Let me give you the full story. I was at Mid Wales at the weekend with school on an Outdoor Pursuits trip with Mike Beal. i went into the shop to see about having them put a cheek-easy on the stock as the comb was rather low for me and as Jonathan was putting a temporary comb raiser on with some tape he had some left on his finger as he put the gun to his shoulder and where the wood on the stock meets the action and trigger group a piece about 1cm sq came off on his fingers. The inside of the wood was so dry and brittle it was untrue! Needless to say the gun is on its was back to DAI to see what they can do about it considering that I have only had the gun for just under 2 months from new!!! B) Another thing that i had found was that it started having trouble cycling 28gram carts after i had been shooting 24g fibres so I took it home and behind the bolt was a load of unburnt powder which was stopping the bolt moving back as fast. Anyone else had with of these problems, I heard from Jonathan that of the 350 that litts bought from Webley they ended up having to sent 212 back for one reason or another:huh: something going on there:huh:
  12. just wondering what the date is for the gun? - its the two letters on the bottom of the action ie. AZ etc Nice gun thou, my dad has one from 1990 and its still going strong!!!
  13. they use them at doveridge, but they tend to be quite leniant over breakages etc. they dont bother with them on big selection shoots and comps as the stands are manned but they're not that bad, i can see why the grounds would wat to save money lol
  14. the trsck's not too bad, even in the wet, it's just a bit bumpy as its mostly old concrete. I've seen an XJ dow nthere in the rain which had no problem at all getting in and out lol!
  15. Nice to know what it is but very nice, have fun lol
  16. still a bit of a farm track, they're meant to be refurbishing the ground soon with a new clubhouse etc. not sure when that's happening but its meant to be soon.
  17. i did, i sent a number of e-mails into the cpsa but every time i was told that I couldn't put a valid vote forward which peed me off
  18. GET THE WEBLEY! lovely gun! comes with a lifetime warranty apart from the wood-work, it'll eat most shells with no probs
  19. DONT BUY THE MIDNIGHT SELECT! had some bad experiences with the gun, firing pins needed replacing quite often and the gun isn't very comfortable with a lot of kick for its weight. go for a silver pigeon or if u still want a winchester pick the winchester select sporting, cheaper and described as better in general as it is slightly lighter and there is less kick.
  20. bought an escort semi last year but the stock was too short and I wanted a nice gun that would last me a bit longer (the bottom of the ejection port was starting to 'peel' away from the repeated ejection of cartriges) so I bought the W&S 810 and it is in a differen league, i've yet to have a jam the metalwork is fine and it will cycle pretty much anything apart from the really light 24g sub-sonics. Another nice thing about it is the wood is of a very high quiality on all of the guns. not a lefty myself but have heard some good reports from the other guys on the range, not a bad gun at all!
  21. one thing I feel I must point out is that there is a fair few of those who couldn't vote as they are U18 (myself included) which although it doesn't make a major difference to the 19000 who didn't vote, it's still a fair few who couldn't vote.
  22. shot 33/100 at doveridge...not good at all, missed all on stand 12 and it didnt really get better from there...i think that was more to do with my mindset rather than the weather!
  23. i shot this one and flunked it BIG time! doin ok on stand 10 and 11 then got to the crossing birds on stand 12, didnt hit anything and from then on Iwas missing ridiculous targets that I should have hit with no problemsbut no...I ended up hitting 1 on each stand until stand 3 where it got a bit better but i had lost it, finished with 33/100 EEK! ah well lifes a ******, just gotta deal with it!
  24. not too good on sunday, went up to w-g-c at illey in halesowen, only shot 63ex100 shame but, ah well lifes a ******. shot 50 ball trap for the first time, got 42/119ex50 which i was pretty chuffed with!
